4-aco-dmt for headaches?

I've been getting intense headaches lately, and I have heard about psilocybin helping with cluster headaches.

I know 4-aco-dmt metabolizes to psilocybin, my question is if it will act similarly on my headaches? Next question, what would be a therapeutic dose that wouldn't dilate my pupils so I can be around family?

Thanks for any help :)

Headaches and cluster headaches are different. Cluster headaches is a neurological disease without any known cause. I don't think it will be effective on a normal headache but that would be cool if it did.

On the Wiki article it says that cluster headaches are arguably the most painful medical condition known to man. Worse than a migraine and, according to a quote on the wiki, more painful than childbirth. I didn't know that they were that excruciating. Sounds like a horrible condition to have.

Cluster headaches aren't really "headaches", I'm pretty sure it's a problem with nerves that are in the head. I remember reading somewhere that the pain with cluster headaches is usually located directly behind the eyeballs, and people describe it as "not even hot pokers gouging out eyeballs seems as bad".

On a curious side note however....I used to suffer from migraines. I started getting them when I was 14. I would always get an aura consisting of bright rainbowing globs of flashing light (not as fun as it sounds, trust me). I am 24 now, and I have been using psychedelic drugs for the last 4 years, and during those last 4 years, I no longer get migraines, just aura without migraine.

For those of you who don't know what this is:

But yeah, I have ingested large quanities of mushrooms, LSD, 4-aco-dmt, and other serotogenic psychedelics, and unbeknownst to me if they are in any way related or not, I do not get migraine headaches anymore, just aura without migraine. Still pretty annoying, but hey, i'll take it !

I used to take sumatriptan when I was 14-15-16, but yeah...seems like after I turned 21 and got into "the good stuff" the nature of my headaches really changed a lot.

Not wanting to de-rail the thread but did you find that the sumatriptan just stopped working? I'm in a similar situation but don't have enough posts to PM you.

I can definitely attest to the power of dmt and the resulting effects it had on my migraines.
I've been a migraine sufferer since the age of six, I'm now 28. The first time in my life I feel like I have finally found my cure.
Since last May I first tried dmt and have been taking mushies and deems every other month or so and have gone almost a year so far, the first time in my life!
Before that my neurologist had me on all kinds of drugs from anti-epileptics to nose sprays, injection pens, etc... I would go as far as injecting a full syringe of meds into my hip having to stick myself multiple times just to get relief - not to mention the comedown from the drugs sucked, seriously have contemplated suicide while under a massive headache, not anymore now thankfully. Migraines are absolutely horrible, couldn't even imagine what cluster headaches are like.
May get some L sometime soon, after over a decade, if so I'll add that to my bag of meds. I love tryptamines and they obviously love me too!

From what I recall, I never ended up finishing my last couple sumatriptan pills because I just didn't need them anymore. I used them a couple of times, and they were effective, and then after that I stopped getting migraines. Now I just get auras. I get aura without migraine fairly frequently, once or twice a week, never EVER a migraine with it anymore though. I think i MAY have had like a single migraine since I stopped taking sumatriptan, but that's like 6-7 years now.

The proposed mechanism of action for psilocybin helping cluster headaches would probably hold true for 4-AcO-DMT as well, but no research has be done on it, AFAIK. The triptan class medications are basically 3-heavily substituted-DMT, and work through some of the same mechanisms of action.

There's been some research into LSD & a non-psychoactive analogue, bromo-LSD in this arena as well.

You can check out clusterbusters.com for some more info.

Anecdotally, I once got rid of a nasty migraine with 4mg of 4-AcO-DMT; theoretically, it should share the same action as other serotonergic psychedelics and non-psychedelics (like BOL-148 and sumitriptan)
