i take 3 mgs at a time of klonopin to feel anxiety free. who else takes this much or even more at a time. im also on zoloft. im thinking of tapering off the klonopin. only been on it for 3 months

welcome to Bluelight, Jt.

I take kpins too.

Each pill is 2 mg. I take 3 pills, or 6 mg, every night.

Unless I forget. Which is often.

I was off kpins the end of last year for quite a while but finally got my script filled. I'm used to being off them now, so I let myself go without them if I can. My oldest son takes them for anxiety but only when he has anxiety... not every day maintenance-like.

How do you like the zoloft? are you less depressed?

the zoloft is ok. im on 200 mg. im less depressed yes but im taking it more for ocd and anxiety. it does a little bit for my ocd and nothing for my anxiety

As with any Benzo, less is better. If you can reduce it, I would but 3mg isn't that high (I take the same as Flabu). I wouldn't worry at all. I too am curious about the effects of Zoloft. How's it in comparison to other antidepressants?

zoloft does not seem like the best medicine for OCD and anxiety. I'm just a mom with four grown kids, two of which had/have anxiety issues. Xanax and/or Klonopin worked well, zoloft didnt seem to make any effect.

They have all sort of grown out of that transition. Going from a kid to a college kid to a working stiff caused some genuine anxiety around my house. It was very hard for one of my kids to keep adjusting to new situations every year while earning his degree, and very difficult for him to work, you know, 9 to 5 does not come naturally anyway. Throw in bosses, rules, dress regulations, cute women at the front desk, old bitches in the back.

He struggled. Even with his meds, he still had to work very hard to learn adaptation skills.

He is married now, and they are having just a blast I guess trying to conceive, so he is more relaxed than I've seen him since he was 2. ;)

well antidepressants work different on everyone as im sure u know that. but for me zoloft wasnt doing anything untill my doc bumped up the dose to 200 and then i started feeling a little better with depression and ocd. but for anxiety it does nothing. thats why i need the benzos. im thinking about asking for serequel as i heard its good for axiety and ocd and dipression. look it up

I take 1 mg 3 x daily, most days. Some days a little more, some days a little less.

I used to take them recreationally. Anywhere from 2 - 10 mg. One time did a lot more than that along with other stuff and was surprised when i woke up. IMO k-pins suck though, don't bother with em anymore

yes zolaft isnt the best for ocd at all. i keep trying to tell my phycyatrist to change me to another ssri, but he refuses and just bumps up my dose. im on 200 mg now and idk if it working, cant really tell. i guess thats cuz its not. luckily im swiching docs starting march 3rd and starting to see a therapist.

I used to be prescribed a PRN of 2-6mgs for anxiety but have decreased it to 1-3 mgs which I'll typically take all at once. I simply take clonazepam for its intended use as an anxiolytic even though I may take an extra 1-2 mgs if I'm having severe anxiety. I've never found much of a recreational quality with clonazepam or most other benzodiazepines, with the exception of IV midazolam or taking a large dose of alprazolam.

Clonazepam is way overrated as well, like I mean, don't get me wrong, it is a very good Benzodiazepine and it is designed for what it's supposed to do, and does a good job of doing so with probably the most minimal side effects of any benzodiazepine. The thing is, Clonazepam is so gosh darn subtle, I am currently prescribed 4mg/day (2mg BID). Prior to the Clonazepam, I was on Diazepam 40mg/day - those are the only two benzo's my doc will prescribe at the moment since I am on Narcotics as well. My doc didn't believe me that Clonazepam -> Valium is 20:1 though.

Benzo's are very unusual, but very powerful drugs. When I was on the Diazepam 40mg/day (I could actually feel the effects from 20mg taken at once, and then I would take another 20mg at night. I mean it wasn't like I just sniffed 60mg of Hydromorphone or I was 'benzo blown away', but the Diazepam I could definitely feel the effects of a lot more as opposed to the Clonazepam. I would switch back to the Diazepam, but now I have a problem which is that my doctor will only prescribe me a maximum of 30mg/day of Diazepam. Even though the dosage of Clonazepam I'm prescribed in a day (4mg/day) is the equivalency to 80mg of Diazepam. He doesn't seem to quite understand, but I am going to bring in a benzo conversion chart from the Heather Ashton Manual, because he is familiar with her, and has actually read some of the Heather Ashton Manual.

But, back to it with the point, Don't plan on trying to use your or any other purchased Clonazepam for Recreational purposes, as Clonazepam has no euphoric properties or any 'warmth' to it like Valium does.
Back about 7 years ago now, I used to order bags full of Clonazepam from Serbia. Don't get me wrong either, if you take too much Clonazepam or mix with other depressants, you just might end up places you don't want to be, or dead - but not from a Benzo overdose (Extremely rare, and especially with Rivotril. Now specifically out there to you Non-TOLERANT Benzo Users - 4mg/day is quite a fair dose, but that would probably give most non-tolerance Benzo users a pretty nice 'relaxation and mild benzo buzz'.

Also, the thing with Benzo's as well which is the fact that they are very very Sneaky... BTW - I'll try to keep this on topic specifically 'Clonazepam'.

Once again, I'm not calling Clonazepam a weak benzo, or a shitty benzodiazepine. All I'm saying is that Clonazepam is much much more subtle than Diazepam (Valium), but you can sure feel an actual Uplifting benzo 'punch' much more with Diazepam (Valium) compared to Clonazepam. It's going to tough for me to make up my mind and a tough decision to choose of which one to switch over to after I've tapered fully off the Narcotics.

I think at the moment, my head is leaning more towards Diazepam (Valium), one of the reasons why I chose Valium as a opposed to Clonazepam for when I want to come off Benzo's again is that Valium has active metabolites, and its half-life is anywhere from 20-200 hours [36-200] hours *active metabolite hours in [.

BTW - If I had my choice, since I have tried pretty much all the Benzo's in North America available by prescription, and also a few different Benzo's overseas. I would ask him to prescribe me Lectopam (Bromazepam) as Bromazepam is another Benzo you can really feel, and get pretty fucked up on! If I can remember correctly some of the other
BZD's and what they felt like.. I remember what Ativan, Clonazepam, Valium, Xanax feel like, all separate as well. Some other ones I have tried but having a hard time remembering what they were like. *DuH benzo FOGGED* :P. Oxazepam, Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol) - was too long ago, but from what I remember it was like a very long acting, sedating benzodiazepine. Much stronger than some of the other benzo hypnotics.

Zoloft kind of works i guess, first medication i was ever prescribed . Takes like 4 weeks but i noticed waking up with a little better mood, and i wouldn't rage as easily when my parents get in my business or piss me off. People say i'm not sure they are really working because it is just so damn subtle. Btw i'm keeping my dose low because i know they are a bitch to get off, suppose to take like 100mg a day.. i either take 50 or 25. O yea i guess it also makes you less impulsive for certain things, im less impulsive to get stoned all day or do certain other drugs.

you are trully right. Valium is much much better even though the equavellency is .5 to 10 mg. i have some valiums to. i save those though =]

Diazepam works well for treating anxiety disorder, IMO. It has 3 active metabolites. Oxazepam, temazepam and nordiazepam. Clonazepam, IMO, is a subtle drug indeed. I much prefer taking Diazepam, but over here in Australia, the maximum amount of diazepam that one can get is 5 mg tablets and 50 covered under the National Health.

I'm in the same predicament as you buddy boy. I've been on Zoloft for a little less than a month now, and feel anxious, more so than without taking them. I'm scripted 6 mg of Clonazepam a day plus 4 mg Alprazolam, been on the Clonaz for about 1.2 months, Alpraz about 1 week.

I'm wondering if I'm better off with another antidepressant, plus the additional Clonaz/Alpraz here and there.

Im thinking bout buying some clonazepam for my anxiety, ive never used them before. Atm im perscirbed diaz+temaz but the amount they give me is absolutely useless so with such knowledge in mind i cant help but abuse the ones they give me in 2-5days instead of the ridiculous 14x1 a day. I asked for clonazepam cos like you know i have internet and i can read (they dont like that) but like the doc isnt actually allowed to perscribe me it, only mental health pros can. Im like ok ill buy it of the internet, gimme a fuckin break, anywayz, thinkin bout buyin a script for clonazepam and giving that a whirl. My plan was to buy the 2mg chop them in half and take 1mg 3 times daily (cant get 1mg, no point buying 0.5mg when they are basically the same price as the 2mg)

imo klonopin is the best for anxiety hell i love them period with my subutex its great i take 3-5 mgs daily so i dont get crazyyy on a fooooool

i would give the zoloft a little more time, and if it dosnt work for you, change ssri. i hope your doc is not like mine. he refuses to change my ssri and just keeps upping my dose. im swiching docs.

klonopin lasts more than valium i can tell u that. but valium has a better feeling to it. dont get me wrong at about 3-4 mg of kpin youll be nice and anxiety free. but at just 40 mg of valium i feel great. and thats equalvelant to 2 mg of kpin. but i dont suggest buying em from the streets. trry seeing a phych doctor. hopefully hell give you enough kpins and u wont abuse em. i have both kpin and valium but i save the valiums. there a classic drug but very addicting. stay away from xanax.

I should be the only one on this thread who thinks that clonazepam is far superior than diazepam for medicinal AND recreational purpose. IME valium is boring , sedative in a bad way and not anxiolytic.

(But my reactions on benzos are weird. For example i don't feel temazepam at any dosage...)
