Clonazepam is way overrated as well, like I mean, don't get me wrong, it is a very good Benzodiazepine and it is designed for what it's supposed to do, and does a good job of doing so with probably the most minimal side effects of any benzodiazepine. The thing is, Clonazepam is so gosh darn subtle, I am currently prescribed 4mg/day (2mg BID). Prior to the Clonazepam, I was on Diazepam 40mg/day - those are the only two benzo's my doc will prescribe at the moment since I am on Narcotics as well. My doc didn't believe me that Clonazepam -> Valium is 20:1 though.
Benzo's are very unusual, but very powerful drugs. When I was on the Diazepam 40mg/day (I could actually feel the effects from 20mg taken at once, and then I would take another 20mg at night. I mean it wasn't like I just sniffed 60mg of Hydromorphone or I was 'benzo blown away', but the Diazepam I could definitely feel the effects of a lot more as opposed to the Clonazepam. I would switch back to the Diazepam, but now I have a problem which is that my doctor will only prescribe me a maximum of 30mg/day of Diazepam. Even though the dosage of Clonazepam I'm prescribed in a day (4mg/day) is the equivalency to 80mg of Diazepam. He doesn't seem to quite understand, but I am going to bring in a benzo conversion chart from the Heather Ashton Manual, because he is familiar with her, and has actually read some of the Heather Ashton Manual.
But, back to it with the point, Don't plan on trying to use your or any other purchased Clonazepam for Recreational purposes, as Clonazepam has no euphoric properties or any 'warmth' to it like Valium does.
Back about 7 years ago now, I used to order bags full of Clonazepam from Serbia. Don't get me wrong either, if you take too much Clonazepam or mix with other depressants, you just might end up places you don't want to be, or dead - but not from a Benzo overdose (Extremely rare, and especially with Rivotril. Now specifically out there to you Non-TOLERANT Benzo Users - 4mg/day is quite a fair dose, but that would probably give most non-tolerance Benzo users a pretty nice 'relaxation and mild benzo buzz'.
you are trully right. Valium is much much better even though the equavellency is .5 to 10 mg. i have some valiums to. i save those though =]
Also, the thing with Benzo's as well which is the fact that they are very very Sneaky... BTW - I'll try to keep this on topic specifically 'Clonazepam'.
Once again, I'm not calling Clonazepam a weak benzo, or a shitty benzodiazepine. All I'm saying is that Clonazepam is much much more subtle than Diazepam (Valium), but you can sure feel an actual Uplifting benzo 'punch' much more with Diazepam (Valium) compared to Clonazepam. It's going to tough for me to make up my mind and a tough decision to choose of which one to switch over to after I've tapered fully off the Narcotics.
I think at the moment, my head is leaning more towards Diazepam (Valium), one of the reasons why I chose Valium as a opposed to Clonazepam for when I want to come off Benzo's again is that Valium has active metabolites, and its half-life is anywhere from 20-200 hours [36-200] hours
*active metabolite hours in [.
BTW - If I had my choice, since I have tried pretty much all the Benzo's in North America available by prescription, and also a few different Benzo's overseas. I would ask him to prescribe me Lectopam (Bromazepam) as Bromazepam is another Benzo you can really feel, and get pretty fucked up on! If I can remember correctly some of the other
BZD's and what they felt like.. I remember what Ativan, Clonazepam, Valium, Xanax feel like, all separate as well. Some other ones I have tried but having a hard time remembering what they were like. *DuH benzo FOGGED*

. Oxazepam, Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol) - was too long ago, but from what I remember it was like a very long acting, sedating benzodiazepine. Much stronger than some of the other benzo hypnotics.
