ULTRABASS Featuring:

Jackal & Hyde - Hallucination Records / Warped Records / Deletefunk / Monotone (Tampa, Florida/Los Angeles, California)

Jackal & Hyde have been called "the purveyors of the hardcore-electro sound" (Electro-core), a combination of industrial laden electro beats and psychotic keys. Jackal and Hyde's live shows and digital mix sets are eclectic full frontal sonic assaults which appeal to a wide variety of fans from club kids, ravers and break dancers to goths, gravers and industrial heads alike. Jackal & Hyde was formed in 1998 by partners Scott Weiser, and Todd Walker in an effort to combine a harder edge sound with the dance floor sensibility of Electro,Industrial, Breakbeats and Techno. Besides their original work, Jackal & Hyde's sound has been requested for multiple remix productions including No Doubt, Love & Rockets, Kid Rock and Genitorturers among others. Together, Jackal & Hyde have had a string of successful records out on Hallucination Recordings owned by techno gurus, Rabbit in The Moon. Jackal & Hydes shows are known for cutting edge, in your face music and unbelievable visuals by Hallucination on film. They have had just about every World Renown Electro/Techno/Industrial/Break Beat/Hard House DJ open for them, and have Co-headlined with a wide variety of bands from BT, The Crystal Method, Genitorturers and Kottonmouth Kings to The Prodigy, Stanton Warriors, MSTRKRFT, Tech N9NE and Rabbit in the Moon at venues all throughout the U.S. and abroad

▪ "Jackal & Hyde and their uncanny ability to wreak havoc in the name of electro/breaks have been in constant demand on turntables from LA to Berlin". - URB MAGAZINE
▪ "Jackal & Hyde are not just club DJ's but a live act & production duo that are a force to be reckoned with"- D'VOX MAGAZINE
▪ AND THE DJ'S SAY: On Jackal & Hyde's "Give It All You Got 2000" - "I got the record last week and dropped it at a party this weekend it ROCKED the party. DJ's were sweating that shit like mad. I just wanted to let you know how well it was received on the west coast. Thanks for sending it to me." Scot (Mikhail) - MIXER Reviews

Jakes - H.E.N.C.H Recordings / D Style / Get Darker (2) (Bristol, United Kingdom)

jakes is many things to many people, to some he is the voice of TC’s smash hits ‘Deep’, ‘Drink’ and ‘Mindkiller’, to others he is the Daddy of Bristolian Dubstep crew H.E.N.C.H and to musical historians he is one of the most interesting vocalists that underground British music can lay claim to. Never afraid to break from tradition and roll with his own flow, Jakes’ voice has become one of the most recognisable in the game and his energetic live performances see him travelling across the globe and smacking down raves from Bristol to Boston with his inimitable style.

Within a few years, Jakes has gone from being one of the big name MCs of the drum and bass world to now being one of the most talked about Producers in Dubstep. In a very short space of time, the progression towards his now trademark style has been applauded by many – and not limited to the Dubstep scene.

In 2009, the release of The Jakes Project, which included anthems such as Rock Tha Bells and Warface, demonstrated Jakes’ ability to straddle genres with his aptness for innovation and style remaining intact. With his own productions receiving widespread support from as wide-ranging DJs from Skream to Crookers to Mary Anne Hobbs to Gaslamp Killer, Jakes has gone on to produce remixes that have topped download charts and he regularly receives extensive radio coverage. With this in mind, it’s no wonder that his label has a host of talented artists releasing their productions through the HENCH imprint. I'm the Fada a da H.E.N.C.H FAMILY!

Dara - Breakbeat Science (Brooklyn, New York)

Dara is considered one of, if not THE, best drum'n'bass DJ in the USA, but his presence is felt internationally. Orignally from Ireland, Dara moved stateside in the early '90s and quickly established himself in New York's underground dance scene. Furthering the movement, he helped open Breakbeat Science, the first drum'n'bass-only record store in the country, which lead to the development of two spin-off labels, Breakbeat Science Recordings and Orgone. Not to be outdone by his peers, Dara released his first full-length album,Rinsimus Maximus in 1997, which was quicly followed by Halfway Home on the same label (Sm:)e Communications) and the mix CDFrom Here To There on Moonshine Music. In addition to recording music and running his record store, Dara's also known for his Web-TV show, Velocity, on which he interviews drum'n'bass contemporaries from around the world.
