I don't know who you are
In fact,
I know little about you really.
But
for 36 hours,
you knew me thoroughly
for 36 hours
I had let it all go
realizing for that time
you were all that I cared to know.
For 36 hours
you created for me
not quite a fantasy
but
a new reality.
For 36 hours
I forgot all that I am currently
but at the same time I remembered
all that I ever cared to be
Perhaps I will never know you
but I knew you.
I felt every sense of you.
you were
predictable
yet surprising
you were
exactly what I'd been craving.
I want to say thanks
for freeing me
for letting me
let go
of what has been
locked
in my soul
for this eternity
For 36 hours
I let you guide my soul and my heart
You showed us the way to bliss
with no effort on our part
so now, although my time is up
my mind still thanks you
and congratulates you
for the 36 hours you gave
has left a permanent mark.

you should call this "36 hours"...
i love this. you have me sitting here wondering now with interest, who this person is that "freed" you and how they did it... i was craving a happy-ending story and this was just awesome. love your writing.

WOW!
What a thoughtful piece!
I was expecting some sort of ending, too.
Nicely done!

"ummm...thanks!?!?!"--that was the title
im not good at naming things
i like the title now (36 hrs.) because it better suits it, but i do have to say I like the original better. only because sometimes, there's things that can no better describe something, what someone means, nor what someone does.
this 'person' that you write about, obviously did something to you in '36 hours' that no one had done before, did something to you, but still you had to let them go. and there, sometimes there's no better words than saying, ..... umm, thanks.
nice piece ;)
