There's a lot of good info in this thread and some b.s. First, I would quote every reply as to why you are taking so much? If you are taking 2mg all at one time you are going to feel like you are on cloud nine. .25-1mg is the generally prescribed dose and only for short periods of time until you can find someone qualified in mental health to prescribe. I could go on and on about benzos having a great deal of experience with them. My single response to anyone that absolutely cannot find another way to manage the symptoms you described (i.e; aggression) is do not take them at all. As a friend in recovery told me "Benzos are the Devil", and withdrawal can be life threatening. In your case not so much.
Enough preaching. You probably will not go through serious WD's at that dose one time a week but you would notice if you stopped. 2x a week probably and any more, definitely. Xanax is especially psychologically addictive over many other benzos which may be the result of how quickly it works. It is also this rapid response that can create a rapid tolerance to develop and we all know where that leads. I do not know how much advice I am allowed to give being so new but I would strongly suggest you not self medicate with this stuff. If your aggressive behavior is a problem then get some professional help from a psychiatrist or even a psychiatric nurse practitioner. You said it yourself, "fuck dependence"
