2ci storage question

Hello friends,

I recently received 100mg of 2ci in the mail and promptly fed 40mg to my plants. I made sure to get as thoroughly informed about this compound as possible but
one facet of 2ci that is slightly convoluted in my mind is storage.

I threw the remainding 60mg in a cleaned old apple juice buttle in a 1:1 ratio of distilled water to 2ci. My question is this, without alcohol thrown in their is the compound safe from contaminants for a couple weeks till my plants are hungry once again?

Thanks

(btw first post)

Welcome to Bluelight! Your question: i would say yes although ive nevr stored 2ci in liquid form. Powder form keeps for a long time in a cool dry place.

Thanks for the welcome, been lurking a while and meaning to join up.
There aint no time like the present.

But powder would've been ideal but my mg scale hadn't come in time so I used the liquid solution to deal with measuring the dose.

How do you mean a ratio of 1:1 of 2C-I and distilled water? 2C-I is a solid powder and water is a liquid, on what grounds did you use or calculate a ratio?

Anyway, it's okay as long as you know the volume of liquid that you have, for example if you have 60 ml of water and there is 60 mg of 2C-I in it there is 1 mg/ml - every ml has one mg in it.

For storage you should get distilled alcohol like vodka or something else that has 40% in it. Find out the volume of you water-2CI solution and add at least an equal KNOWN volume of the alcohol. You need to keep bacteria away and at least 20% is needed but more is better.

Sorry, I didn't read your 2nd post well - it seems you are able to calculate the liquid solution correctly. Well then you only need to add the alcohol to preserve it.

A couple of weeks sounds like too much - there is a good chance you wouldn't get sick from drinking that if it has no visible stuff in it but you might get a serious food poisoning. Factors are the country you live in: what temperature it is... distilled water is indeed better but with a couple of weeks you might be pushing the limit.

Hard to be sure about such a thing. You could freeze it as well though... you should be able to get away with that.

Bit off topic:
How would one store powdered form of a tryptamine like 4-HO-MET? And how long would it stay "fresh" from that storage method?

If it's the hcl then it should be stable for a good while. Certainly wouldn't worry if you keep it in the cold & dark & away from moisture.

Thanks for the insights, I've been keeping it refrigerated but freezing it is a good idea. Turns out it will only be a week in the waiting so I think I'll be OK without the alcohol if I freeze it.

And feste it is the stable hcl format so Im thinking I am alright. But I don't reckon Ill be able to keep a water solution away from moisture lol...

Keeping it in an air tight container out of the elements (light and humidity) as well as refrigerated is generally the rule of thumb.

Pprotip: use those silica packets you sometimes get with stuff you buy from stores to keep your powders dry.
