2CD and possible MAOI properties?

I've been rather interested in 2CD's property to extent the duration of other compounds lately, but i'm not sure how this is possible.

Is it possible that 2CD acts as a MAOI? That would explain its ability to potentiate other drugs, but that would also make it quite dangerous to mix with other substances.

I hope anyone can shed some light on this.

Thx!

i also doubt it, i have taken 2C-D with moclobemide safely on several occasions as one might expect full inhibition of MAO-A and partial inhibition of MAO-B almost triples its oral potency, it may possess some MAOI activity (as does every amine which ties up the enzyme) but i doubt its of significance.

Well the 2,5-dimethoxy substitution pattern also has pressor activity (eg methoxamine) so I can't say I'd be happy taking it with an MAOI, even a competetive one like moclobemide

Hmm, the body of experiential literature strongly indicates that pressor activity exists with pretty much all of the 2c-x series, at least potentially ... my impression from the 2c-d literature is that it's probably milder in this regard than e.g. 2c-i or 2c-e, although this may be due to the lower potency of the former; I haven't read the German 2c-d (LE-25) literature where they used much higher doses.

Although -- personally -- I would not take these chemicals with moclobemide regardless.

right from a HR standpoint i would never recommend anyone do what i did, but i can say that i experienced no worrisome symptoms (tachycardia and/or hypertension) although i was also not measuring either of these things so i can only go by the fact that i felt totally comfortable.
