2C-I + Dehydration

(Sorry in advance for the long post; I attempted to include all relevant details. An abbreviated version follows at the bottom.)

This past Saturday, I dosed with about 25 mg of 2C-I at about 2:00 PM. I am a 19-year-old male, 6'1", about 150 lbs.

I had recently begun taking 10 mg escitalopram (Lexapro) daily, which had been suppressing my appetite. Prior to dosing, I had consumed only 1/2 cup of coffee and a prepackaged breakfast cookie (300 calories or so). Shortly after dosing, I drank one 11.3 ounce can of guava nectar. Needless to say, this was insufficient nutrition and hydration for a day of tripping; I should have been much more careful and at the very least consumed water throughout the day.

The trip commenced, which saw myself and friends exploring their snowy campus and a number of indoor spaces.

At around 9:00 PM, as the effects of the 2C-I had begun to dissipate, myself and friends smoked two bowls of high-grade cannabis.

At around 9:35, while standing and talking to a friend, I suddenly began to feel slightly faint/overheated and started to see a swirling patterning of yellow stars over my visual field. I immediately returned to my room, turned on a fan, removed a layer of clothing and got a glass of water.

At about 9:38, as I moved to deposit the sweater I was wearing in the hamper, I began to lose consciousness. My friends were understandably concerned and attempted to rouse a response from me while debating whether or not to notify one of the dorm overseers. I heard some fragments of their conversation and was able to regain consciousness long enough to reassure my friends that I was aware of who and where I was and to notify them that I suspected dehydration. I requested that I would be given the chance to get hydrated and rest before any determinations be made about resorting to outside help.

I was able to struggle to my feet and sat on my bed before feeling the need to vomit. I advised my friends of this and got up to go to the bathroom next door to my room. My visual field was overwhelmed by the star patterning as I made my way to the toilet, and I had to rely on touch to position myself over the toilet. By this time, the need to vomit had suddenly disappeared. I passed out again for about 30 seconds on the bathroom floor, but was able to get back to my bed with some help.

By 9:41, I was seated on my bed, still feeling rather overheated and faint, drinking cold water as quickly as was comfortable. In the next few minutes, I drank two large glasses of water. I removed all clothing but my underwear to help my body cool down as much as possible and laid down, still seeing some patterning over my vision. By 9:50, all patterning over my vision had disappeared and I began to feel much, much better, though I was still very stoned.

Over the course of the next two hours, I drank a few glasses of water (one of which was mixed with a packet of Emergen-C), took a number of vitamins, and ate a large bowl of whole-grain oatmeal and several large handfuls of peanuts. After this, I slept for about 9 hours. The next day, I felt relatively good, and I was very careful to make up for the nutritive deficiencies of the previous day.

****Reader's Digest Version:
I took 25 mg 2C-I in the afternoon, having consumed very little food and essentially no water. About seven and one half hours later, after smoking some weed with friends, I began to feel faint and blacked out briefly from dehydration. I promptly began working to rehydrate myself and ate to restore my energy.

Does anyone have any idea how much damage this occurrence may have caused? Is there anything I can be doing (supplements, etc.) that may mitigate or reverse any damage that may have been incurred? Needless to say, I won't be so careless in the future.

Thanks!

I'm not a doctor, but I highly doubt any damage was done.

It seems like you were probably just dehydrated, and also perhaps you had low blood sugar (cannabis can lower blood sugar, so if you haven't eaten in a while it can make you temporarily hypoglycemic). If this happens in the future to you or someone you know, I recommend room-temperature gatorade (or similar sports-drink) over cold water-- the reason being that gatorade has sugar and electrolytes in addition to water, and room temperature liquids absorb faster than cold liquids.

I'm glad you're feeling better now. :) Passing out / blacking out can be really scary.

generally short term dehydration doesn't cause any serious damage if it's not extreme... and this is definitely not EXTREME dehydration. my roommate became dehydrated the next day after a night of heavy drinking and experienced something very similar... except it was worse because he kept vomiting up any water he drank. we called the paramedics and they told him he was fine and to just keep drinking as much water and to hold down as much as possible... and he was fine. you'll be ok dude, don't worry!
