2C-D Tolerance

I insufflated a sizable dose of 2C-D last night, maybe about 30 mg if I'm not mistaken, and I have some LSD that I've been anxious to try. I realize that there is a cross tolerance among serotonergic drugs so I was wondering how long I should wait before dosing the LSD? I've read that the tolerance for most 2C-x chemicals lasts about 3 days but I figured since the come-up and total duration of 2C-D is so short, the tolerance may wear off more quickly. Am I correct in this assumption?

There's no cross tolerance between LSD and 2C-X. (tryptamine vs. phenethylamine)

^^^ That's not true. Many people notice cross-tolerance between tryptamines and phenethylamines. It varies a lot from person to person. Some people notice little to no cross-tolerance; others can't take any two serotonergics in short succession without massive tolerance issues. Cross-tolerance is a very complex phenomenon that isn't fully understood.

3 days is on the low end of time to wait between doses. If you want to ensure that you have no cross-tolerance issues, I would wait more like 5-7 days. That said, not everyone gets noticeable cross-tolerance between these drugs and some people find that tolerance builds slowly to psychedelics in general, so it's really hard to say. It's entirely possible that you could take the acid right now and not have any trouble with tolerance, but the longer you wait, the better the chances of that happening.

Altough you may have little cross tolerance I find using psychedelics as sparingly as possible allows each experience to have a magical element to it. I find even doing psychedelics more than once a month seems to dull the magical nature of the trip, even if the visaul and mental effects seem to be equally as strong. This is my opinion after having done LSD religiously every weekend throughout most of highschool. I now get the most out of psychedelics by doing them only a handful of times a year, but hey if you are eager to try out your acid I suggest waiting a week at least if you can. 3 days may cut it if you simply can't wait, but there may be some cross-tolerance still. And yeah like Solistus said, everyone reacts differently, especially when it comes to cross-tolerance between psychedelics from different classes, i.e. phenethylamines and ergolines, although they both act on the same serotonin receptors.

The 2C-D trip was not particularly memorable so I didn't think loss of magic or whatever was much of a concern. In any case I ended up taking the LSD and whether or not there was any tolerance I can't say, I tripped quite hard on a high dose. Thanks for the responses!
