2C-D as a Nootropic

Has anyone had any good experiences with this? I've read many awesome success stories involving this compound. It's available to me so I'm thinking about using it as a nootropic, possible bad side effects are the only thing holding me back. Does anyone have any idea of any possible side effects that might come about? I haven't been able to find any answers to that question. I'm only speaking of doses 5 mg and under.

Note to RC naysayers: Please do me a favor and just don't post on this thread at all. I have no idea why you guys are even on bluelight, no gives a shit about your ignorant points of view. Lol not trying to be an asshole or negative but you guys are nothing more than TROLLS.

At threshold effects 2C-D might be indistinguishable from other phenethylamines. It will act mainly as a mild stimulant, that's all. It doesn't really produce true nootropic effects. I believe Lazar caused too much hype on the possible nootropic effects of 2C-D. I personally experimented with 2C-D at low doses and got nothing but mild confusion and a little stimulation. In that state it was very difficult even to read.

Psychedelics in these threshold doses always give the feeling of being more alert and having faster thoughts, but its just a false impression.

The most effective nootropics are believed nowadays to be ampakaines.

Thanks for the info^ Those ampakaines look interesting. Improving memory and concentration does seem like a great thing. I'm curious as to weather these ampakaines would enhance creativity the way 2C-D supposedly does...

I agree!

But I found some really tricky bits on neurospychopharmacology in a book on psilocybin much easier to absorb & recall, on 10mg of 2c-d, than I did without it.

There are a few trip reports in the trip reports sub forum on here that attempted 2C-D as a nootropic and found no particular benefit.

I've tried that some years ago with mixed results. It is stimulating like a low threshold dosage of amphetamine, has probably less / other side effects, but did not find it to be particularly creative or something. But could well be that I've dosed too low. (Somewhere in my moving boxes has to be the remaining powder. Is on the list to try some time when I've got it to get off my meds...)

Since there are many reports of Ergoloid or Lisuride being pro-creative and antidepressant, imo it is quite possible that the phenethylamines could have some nice effects too.

I do not think 2C-D would work for this purpose, and I love 2C-D... but it feels way more like a party drug.

Given the focus of the above discussion on speculation and anecdotes, and given that pharmacology is likely not 'there' yet to tease apart this question, I'm going to move this to PD.

A recent 7mg trial seemed pretty positive, lots of focus. Creativity seemed to be there too, I planned on using it to help inspire me to make some new electronic music on the computer. I will do more trials and report back once I've got all the proper programs I need on my computer. It's pretty exciting, I'm confident I'll find the right nootropic for this weather it ends up being 2C-D or not.

For something like a creative project I could see low to medium dose 2cd being useful, however as a general nootropic I think it's a flop. Don't get me wrong, excellent psychedelic, just nit much in the way of nootropic effects.

That piece on erowid that reads like an infomercial is largely to blame for the perception that 2cd might be an effective noot, IMHO anyway.

I think that it's more because of a single sentence that made it into Shulgin's collected experiences on the compound. An analogous phenomenon cultivated the hype behind use of 5-meo-dipt as an aphrodisiac (yeah...needing to go to the toilet every 10 minutes is SOOOO sexy! :P).

Ordered in a gram of 2cd with a friend and we packed them into 10mg capsules. Hands down best nootropic I've tried. Fantastic mood increase, clear-minded buzz which also gave me this unexpected sense of motivation. Just make sure you don't pack them any higher than 10mg because there was a couple of slighter larger caps, one of which I took on the day of a job interview. Not a pleasant sensation to feel like you're coming up on a trip while having a chat with the CEO of some company!

I've tried using a few psychedelics as nootropics. I found that a 25I-NBOMe trip highly enhanced memory recall, but significantly hampered mental processing. Imagine a computer with extremely fast indexing and recall, but no processing power. I believe that it is best-suited for therapy/emotional work.

2C-E was similar, shorter, and less euphoric. A stimulant with some 5HT2B agonism (like aminorex/4-MAR) would be better because it'd be less stupefying. The problem with psychedelics is that the dosage where memory enhancement occurs is so close to the dosage where stupefaction occurs.

I was obsessed with nootropics for about a year continuously. Nothing affected processing power as much as a good night's rest and a good breakfast. Alertness and focus were most helpful for tough problems. Dosing too high on a stimulant made me hyperfocused and unable to see the forest for the trees. Adderall's the best I ever used, although the long-lasting after-effects of NMDA antagonists was quite helpful as well.

All that being said, I think your attention ought to be more focused on the problem at hand than finding a drug or drug cocktail to make you smarter.
