MCFARLANE TOYS ANNOUNCES '24' ACTION FIGURES
Two Jack Bauer Boxed Sets to Be Released Mid-2007
January 11, 2007
Copyright 2007 TMP International, Inc.
20th Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising and McFarlane Toys announce a licensing agreement to produce action figures based on Fox's multiple Emmy®-and-Golden Globe Award-winning Drama -- 24.

Two figures of the show's hero, Jack Bauer (played by Emmy® Award and Golden Globe winner, Kiefer Sutherland) are currently in production. Both are packaged as boxed sets and re-create scenes taken directly from the action-packed drama on Fox.

"Without question, 24 is one of TV's biggest cliffhanger programs," says McFarlane Toys' CEO Todd McFarlane. "Kiefer Sutherland does an amazing job as Jack Bauer, the biggest reason people tune in each season. I know a lot of our fans will be excited to hear about us making figures of one of TV's top action stars."

"All of us here at Fox are genuinely excited about the upcoming 24 product release from McFarlane Toys -- Todd and his team have built their reputation on bringing innovation, creativity and magnificent attention to detail across all their intellectual property offerings. says Michael Peikoff, vice-president of domestic licensing for 20th Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising. "The passionate fans of 24 will not be disappointed and are eagerly awaiting this product launch."

One of the most ground-breaking, thrilling and acclaimed television dramas, 24 follows twenty-four consecutive hours in the intense life of Jack Bauer, a maverick anti-terrorist agent from the state-of-the-art Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU). Each episode covers one hour of real time and each season's unique storyline unfolds in one heart-stopping day.

McFarlane Toys' first 24 action figure is expected to hit store shelves in August, with the second scheduled for holiday season 2007 release. Check back on Spawn.com for more information as it becomes available.

but to make it better, a confession from a few years ago:

Landmark TV drama 24 is popping up everywhere lately: billboards, bus stops, pop-up windows, bathroom stall advertisements...

And now, after last weekend's two-night, sixth-season premiere, one can expect Kiefer Sutherland and Co. to launch a multi-media advertising assault that'll leave you exhausted years after Jack Bauer rescues America (again). But perhaps the most enjoyable news about 24 circulating the Web involves the long-lost, Jack Bauer action figure from McFarlane Toys that fell off the radar for unknown reasons. Well, it seems Sutherland came clean and admitted to accidentally setting the mini-Kiefer protoype ablaze during a night of drunken celebration. Sutherland explains, "They tried to come out with one a couple of years ago and they had sent me the doll for my approval... We took the doll out for a night to have some fun and we'd had some drinks. We sat it on the corner of the table. "We started torturing him around 11 o'clock at night, and, by two o'clock in the morning, we had set him on fire in the parking lot. "We got up the next day and there was just this puddle of wax. His clothes didn't burn, which I thought was pretty cool... and then I got a call the next day saying, 'Did you like the doll?' I said, 'Yeah, it was great.' And they said, 'Well, OK, good, you gotta send it back to us because that was the prototype... It took that guy a year to make it.' "I said, 'Well, let me look for it, I think I left it in the trailer.' This went on for about a week and then I had to just kinda come clean."

By the ned of the second hour, I was experiencing 24 fatigue. I thought "great, more terrorists, and I'm sure there'll be some sinister multinationals behind them." Now, all that is still probably true, but now that I've seen four hours worth, I'm feeling better about watching this season.

Complaints: Kumar does not make a very good terrorist 8)

NSFW:
Way to go Ray (the father who delivered the detonator). Just sit there like a bump on a log while a fanatic detonates a nuke a couple feet from you. If I were in your shoes, I'd have bitten that dude's hand off.

these fucking terrorist, especially fahad, need to shut the fuck up. really.... stop telling everyone your plans in detail. there was no reason to tell jack every little thing about how you set up the government to get the other guy when you were behind it. according to every terrorist/cop/ect. movie rule you are just making sure he will escape with that slip. i understand we need the plot forwarded somehow in a short amount of time but that lacks imagination.
i am surprised when fahad walked out in the end of episode four he didn't tell ray the exact address of where he was heading.

^^^^
Hahah, I laughed so hard when I saw Kumar! :)

Yea, 24 is addicting and well done. Think about what messages we got from the first 4 hours:

- Anyone could be a terrorist, even your nice neighbor's son
- Muslim terrorism is real and they could be in the country plotting to kill you

BUT

- Civil rights could be in danger
- There MIGHT be an international conspiracy behind it
- People on the inside of the U.S military are helping the terrorists

Is it propaganda? I think so. There aren't any REAL terrorist attacks in the U.S to make people all paranoid, so they simulate them on TV using a show called 24. It's all about keeping people afraid!

You simply lack the penchant for the dramatic that makes a regular villain a supervillain. ;)

yes, perhaps it is getting a bit tiresome on the premise of the show... because, really, how many bad days could this guy have...

but! tonight is the start of the two night four hour premiere of season 7

please refer to our existing 24 thread , thanks.

while this season has started off well... i am debating if the show has really just 'jumped the shark' at this point. the response on this thread as been dismal over the last two or so seasons. perhaps the fans' attention spans are waning.

Tv: 24

What did you think of the season finale? I thought it was epic! Anyone know if there will be an eigth season?

an 8th season has been booked so its obvious jack will live, think we all knew that from the start as he is invincible.
Really enjoyed this season, much better than the last, although it probably would have been better to call it quits now because it ended with Jack being at peace with his past actions, its just Kim's selfishness thats gonna keep him alive and put him through another 24 hours of hell at least

Jack being at peace with his past actions

HE WAS ON IV HYDROMORPHONE(dilaudid) :p

Of course he was "at peace with everything" LAWLz

In fact, he probably realized "fuck it, I want to live" when all his worries got erased...

and he looks like hell, too!

like somebody kept him up for 3 days, and then half drowned him.
Major LULZ!1 :D PB speaks truth!

ive been an avid 24 fan since jumpstreet, and yeah, i admit (just like other shows, some season are a far cry from others). but its just like waiting tables. you barrel through the shitty tippers for those few that give you 20% or more. :)

Last season was wack! Renee Walker was really annoying and I really really tried to want to say she was fuckable, but i just couldn't do it. Jack's exposure to the agent was the main (and probably only) reason that kept me through the episodes. But this season, holy crap, Renee. They are really putting the Tony Almeda spin on her. Still not fuckable, but damn she got them crazy eyes. Haha. I'm really interested in seeing what she really is capable of now. (or who she will screw over in the end).

Side bar: Everytime President Hassan was on screen, did anyone else want to yell out "Who waants to beee....ahhhh...MILLANARRRRR!!!!!" =D

/end side bar

Anyone want to venture any possible threats inside of CTU? (besides that douchebag hunchback director, Brian Hastings). And what's up with Dana Walsh? Let's make sure the tall blonde wears the least amount of clothes at CTU. This is your uniform. =D

I thought the first two episodes were weak. The writing seems lazy and the characters just seemed too annoying or stupid. I hope this improves.

Though, I'd fuck Renee any day of the week.

first two were subpar and a bit boring, even after last season... the next two hours stepped it up a bit. i'll be around watching again this week even if it is just to see renee. i am interested in where the whole renee plot line is going. i liked when she went full tilt on the guy with the monitor on.
i suppose i have freddy prinze and hassan set, in my mind, into type characterizations because i am having a hard time getting past she's all that (or whatever other bad movie he was in) and slumdog.
i know there has always been a full undercurrent of personal issues in every season of 24, but it seems to be too much too early this year with renee's issues, jack's daughter being too helpful getting rid of him, the relationship between walsh and prinze's guy, walsh's past already in full effect and to top it all off the inexperience and bumbling of hastings. too many subplots just dilute the real plot line that could be shinning through.
