Yes. Stimulants like meth start to have paradoxical effects when you are tolerant and do the opposite of what you expect. I can be smoking bowls and 10 PM and still be asleep by 10:30 PM if if have been going at it hard for a few weeks. But if you take a long enough break your tolerance will partially reset and it have its normal effects again more or less.
I was just reflecting how I discovered the surprising phenomenon of high dose Diazepam having different effects.
I watched a true gritty Welshman eat 10 blues, 100 mg Valium one night, sort of sink to a barely conscious heap, mumbling.
I commented on his evening being over then he mumbled in a peculiar tone, eyes closed....Life is just beginning my friend!
He awoke, had a whole active social night, with us, then went off clubbing.
I tried it myself, 13, or 130 mg Diazepam with alcohol, weed- great student night out.
Much later, food and dope at after party house, I finally slept- 15 hours not a blink lol, woke up to an empty coastline cottage 5 pm Friday.
I take 5 mg Etiz doses regs. Sometimes it sedates me. Lately it’s more to simply calm my racing mind, feel okay just to be conscious.
So ironically, I don’t want to waste that sleeping when it’s my chance to be conscious and not feeling too bad.
I take 10 mg doses too, at times of acute distress. Which can work similarly and not plainly sedating.
But one day, a follow up 10 mg dose, 20 in all, was a bit sleepy drowsy mongey messy lol.
20 mg’s Etiz, to me, arguably over 200 mg’s Diazepam, doesn’t pay.
10 mg’s daily is surprisingly tolerable and manageable. That’s my target for within control territory, to begin a committed taper from there.
I think I could also jump down to a fixed 10 mg daily for several weeks to steady, without having to taper slowly from over 15 mg ave currently, without any real issues.
Then, 0.5 or 1 mg reduced daily each week, to only 0.5 mg, then days off, more frequently....that’s a feasible recipe for controlled Benzo tapering I hope.
