20mg Lexapro makes kittens barf rainbows. Please read.

There is some unique neuro chemistry going on here to produce those effects. Normally I would be right there with everyone else saying.that you were probably given some kind of psychedelic. However I would like to toss out a little anecdote that might be relevant...

My wife began taking 20mg of Citalopram daily about two or three months ago. She was tapering up from 10mg to the full dose during a one week period. On day two or three she was making eggs at the stove when she stopped and came over to me with a smile and asked me if I had put something in her drink that morning, because she was having minor visuals.

Now she has done a fair amount of MDMA and a few psychs in her past, so perhaps there is some HPPD style callback phenomenon that occurs. Regardless, your case sounds extreme.

Not really, unless I'm so tired I can't keep my eyes open. The hallucinations are like those people can get at the point in consciousness where you are asleep yet awake. I have had those before, basically a sleep paralysis yet your moving still

I doubt that the school is outright forcing you to take a medication. I do not think that is legal. What I do believe is that you were forced to undergo therapy to remain in school and said medication is part of your treatment.

Now, all those effects from one pill? Did you have anything else in your system?

Absolutely nothing else. And I don't think they really care if it is legal, it's what many schools do to small children who have ADHD.
And yes I got the effects from a single pill. I had a test done to measure how efficient my brain blood barrier is, and it's basically broken. By that I mean it let's in molecules WAY to big. Things that would not normally be able to get in. Probably from being a drugged coma child as a teenager, way to many drugs.

What the fuck man??

I would take that test as an argument that medication might be very bad for you so they can't make you take anything like that. It would be seriously irresponsible, if not unethical then at the very least medically unsafe. Get them to switch it to some therapy and counselling if it's that big of a deal to them. I don't see a problem in talking about this without doping you up like an animal.

I'm curious about what happened that weakened your BBB by the way. Do you also easily get sick or respond funny to other things like certain foods?

It probably means you should be much more careful about what you put into your body even than other people. If that isn't stating the obvious.

Or - correct me if I'm wrong - the doses and frequency of medication could be adjusted to the permeability of your BBB. I mean medication is supposed to pass it anyway so if your BBB is that much more permeable, maybe you can compensate with lower dosage and it could be fine.
But if the BBB if messed with, who knows what else is out of the ordinary, damaged, non neurotypical? Who knows. So never mind me and demand a whole lot of explaining before letting them do something like that to you.

I don't know if you ever tried recreational drugs again after that coma you mention, but it sounds like that could possibly be very dangerous for you. Like: if they gave you a heavy dose of ecstasy instead of Lexapro, maybe you'd have been hospitalized or dead...

Great points, Solipsis.

FinalBuzz, I am going to tweak your title then send this to The Dark Side. I feel that you will get more responses there and gain insight into what decisions you should be making in your situation.

My advice: Go down kicking and biting. No free man should ever be forced to take psychiatric drugs.

Thanks guys, I got a meeting with the person in charge of our school, and told him that I was going to sue him and the school for their threats and everything. He has decided to take me off medication, and gave me 100$ to keep quiet. And even though I am a pretty big guy, drugs hit me so much harder than others. This has been true for absolutely every drug. With the exception being amphetamines, they never quite worked the same after a 500mg adderall dose. Benzos have never ever worked on me, even when legitimately prescribed. Neither do hypnotics. I always end up getting the absolutely rare side effects from almost any drug I have ever taken.
In response to solipsis, I have a tendency of getting sick, but no foods effect me in great ways, my stomach and liver are like wizards with the magic they used to somehow survive during my high school years. Also what probably caused a breakdown in diphenhydramine, the antihistamine benadryl. After an 1300mg dose, damn near lethal, especially since it a weak ssri, I slept around 23 hours a day for 6 days after that. Coma child as I became known as, was due to an astonishing concoction of drugs, all of which I had no tolerance to. 18mg of Xanax, 40mg of Valium, 23mg of lorazepam, 70mg of oxycodone, 210mg of instant release adderall, 500mg of benadyl, smoking gram after gram of weed, and around a pack of cigarettes, never had even touched cigs before. Top this off with half a bottle of vodka and an unknown amount of phenobarbital I was damn near dead when I passed out face first in a plate of spaghetti and woke up two days with my dog curled around me, since my parents were dead and I was living by myself. I am absolutely sure that it, along with the massive dose of benadryl (by it's very nature it's stopping the brain from sending correct signals) I somehow starved by brain of oxygen.

Also thanks for the support, you guys convinced me to tell them what I am going to do with my body, not them.
P.s. I was adopted later that year when I first went coma child, and fell into a real coma after I got hit by some guy on heroin in the back of the head, he was looking for money, thing is im almost in poverty myself.

Michigan. Also i a having extremely odd visuals even at this small dose. No longer stimulated, but visuals, especially in the dark have been intense. Like seeing black smoke rise from your fingers to having objects black out in your vision to be replaced by random shit your mind has made.

Someone snuck you a research chemical is my guess. I would see a physician.

Blood brain barrier malformations are typically heritable, and present at birth, and not caused by drug use you had as a teenager.

Having said that, you should not be doing drugs as your response will be unpredictable.

No one in my family (my blood relatives are for the most part dead now) has had any extreme reaction except me. Also thought I should mention that my family on my mothers side had a 25% chance of having schizophrenia. Also looking back, I have noticed that extreme reactions always happen when I ingest anything that effects serotonin, even if it has no noticeable effect on others.
Also I have said this multiple times, not a research chemical or anything else. I have a legit script now, (which I finally get to stop), and the same thing has still been happening.

Don't know why nobody mentioned this but you might be bipolar. I had the same reaction to 20mg of lexapro and felt like a god for a few days. I was on no other drugs and was prescribed lexapro by my University.

I had to chime into this post for the fact ive been through probably 10 different anti depressants and 8 anti psyc drugs all with really fucked up side effects, some people just cant tolerate these chems fucking around with the brain. Everything described in OP's first post i went tru on fuckin zoloft. Anti deps just dont work for some and for the others its just guess work anyway. I wouldnt touch lexapro with a stolen dick. then again all i can tolerate is a baby dose of trycilic anti dep, and i stop the things as soon as they make me stop feeling like me. Keeping in mind i choof, drink and take lots of xanax:|

Bipolar might be an idea, I can easily change from moods and mindsets in just days, who knows, maybe I will have myself tested

Well guys, I'm going to have to put this as serotonin syndrome. Because mania and hypomania may occur with it, and bowel sounds from it.

Lexapro caused me to have some visuals but I took 550mg morning glory seeds several years ago. When I first took Celexa it made the ambience of everything feel different and trees sort of reminded me of toothpicks.
