You do know how primaries work, right? Signature gathering alone takes weeks. You can't really be serious saying you're not well aware of that. By the US Constitution the Dems could flip a fucking coin. They are actually following the will of the voters in the best way they can. I haven't heard any Dems complain about it, only Republicans.

When Trump is re-elected I hope these little childish displays were worth it.
Better than the UK to be honest. Yesterday we had two simultaneous events:
1. Muslim family involved in some stop and search drama at Manchester Airport, which lead to police officers being violently assaulted (broken nose), and consequently an armed police officer kicking and stomping on the head of one of the detained.
2. Black man stabs a uniformed Army officer in Kent, currently in a critical condition.
No guesses as to which one the media is absolutely spunking their pants over. One is a racist incident, the other a 'mental health' episode.. can you guess which is which?
The Olympics in France are going to be really interesting I think. Could be pivotal moment in this whole saga, when it comes to imported cultures and foreign ideologies. I get the feeling that the resentment and anger amongst the 'silent majority' is going to begin seeking out draconian remedies before too long.
Democrats never cease to amaze me with their specific mixture of condescension and hubris. If you don’t vote blue then surely you must be voting red!
No, there is a whole spectrum of options beyond giving Trump a free vote. You can vote 3rd party, hopefully someone who aligns with your views as much as possible and send a message that if the party wants your vote they need to make some policy and doctrine changes.
Or you can make some noise about being fine voting blue, as long as they run a candidate that doesn’t support a genocide (which is asking for the moon apparently).
Or you can do what I do and never bother registering to vote anyway because your vote doesn’t matter, none of these options give Trump a vote.

Not on anti Trump voting, the economy, foreign policy, healthcare. Yup these rascals are definitely the biggest concern to the suburban swing voter.

Most Americans see these idiots desecrating monuments and flags and are disgusted. Supporting terrorism and shit. A non zero number of those people will be so pissed they vote for the person who they think will put a stop to that behavior.
And yeah I thought January 6 was disgusting too, before anyone asks.

If following your moral compass means that you vote 3rd party or don't register at all, no one is getting onto you. That's what you believe and I respect that. It's also honest and true.
Problem is registered Dems who don't vote due to angst with the candidate. That's why Hillary lost. (There are more registered Dems than Republicans in the US.) Those are the people that are cited as handing votes to Trump, not you.
Personally, I'd encourage you to vote 3rd party. Otherwise, you are voting for the status quo by not registering and voting.
A lot of Dems are against our military aid to Israel (year after year, it's not new). That includes me.
(And no, @mal3volent, I don't support stupidity in protests. Definitely very counterproductive.)
While he was in office Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital, stopped funding to the UNRWA, recognized the Golan Heights as part of Israel, signed an executive order "Combatting Anti-Semitism on campuses," and more. He's saying he could achieve peace but Netanyahu and his people are all saying Trump would be "better for Israel".
I've been against most every proxy war in my lifetime. VietNam, El Salvador, Iraq, Afghanistan (should have been a last resort). IMO, Ukraine is the first moral war we've been involved in in years.
I used to not vote, figured it wouldn't make anything better. Then Reagan got into office and reduced inflation with a brutal recession destroying manufacturing in America. I had to live with relatives in another state with lower unemployment for two years to survive. His idea for America was a "service economy" of serfs serving hamburgers to yuppies. We're still down his road paying the price.
It was then that I realized that my vote might not make anything better, but that it sure might stave off things getting worse.
I registered to vote.

Truth is most Americans not addicted to these toxic media sources live in the suburbs not college campuses and see kids going about soccer practice and ppl mowing their lawns and expensive groceries.
If you’re addicted to the outrage machine screens sure…all you see is something happening on a college campus thousands of miles away from you. And if you are weak minded enough, they’ll actually convince you to get angry and that a group for 100 dumb 20 year olds are the greatest issues our country has ever faced and you should vote upon that.
And what is trumps plan to deal with them? Abolish the 1st amendment so they can be arrested? I hear a lot of anger about it but no actual solution to dealing with them.

It's the lies that elicit the strongest reaction from me.
Harris not only didn't contribute to the MMF, the MMF is just an organization which helps make bail for poor people who cannot make bail on their own after the judge has determined that bail is an option.
The MMF was active at the time in making bail for defendants in the George Floyd protests. The vast majority of those charges were ultimately dropped since there were mass arrests as crowd control tactics. We've all seen them herding protestors into paddy wagons.
So, the great majority of those were offenders which had never had a violent crime and would not go on to commit any more crimes.
Of course Trump picked the few that did and focused on them. Also trying to directly link Harris to them when all she did was put up a tweet supporting a bail fund which was helping thousands of protestors at the time.
Regardless, the only person who determines if someone is bailed out is the judge in the case. If bail is a mistake for a defendant, then the judge would be the one at fault. Helping poor people make bail is not evil, and the great majority of people helped by this organization do not go on to commit any more crimes.
And, Trump lies.
(BTW: He seems to be weaseling on debating Harris. Stay tuned.)
