2017 Trump Presidency Thread

Keeping brown people out, at great cost to our economy, is worth it to feel vaguely safe. Effective gun control to actually be safe? C'mon, we live in the real world! It's just tyranny anyway!

The best pinch of salt to take with Iran is how it seems to come up before elections, especially midterms. Those should be gearing up soon. Iran can handle all levels of bullshit flung at it, being so removed from out interests.

Now might be a calm before a rhetorical storm about it. I wonder if the GOP will want something to get hawks all hot and bothered--they can blame on Obama and the actually helpful NP treaty--to challenge any NK issues that Trump might get hit on.

LMAO get out and spend time in the real world or travel outside of the United States, instead of being an SJW that completely believes the lies your media spoon feeds you daily.

Not all 'Brown people' are actually 'brown' or have a dark/tan complexion. A lot of people who are Afghan, Iranian, Syrian, Arabic, or Desi/South Asian, Latino/Mestizo/Hispanic, etc. actually have a light complexion and are considered Caucasian. Iranians are Caucasian, and are not 'brown people' or 'people of colour' or any of the other nonsensical terms snowflake professional victim SJWs now use.

I'm not really sure what I meant. But there must be some reasons the Norks in the room are all smiling like that. I dunno if its good or bad for them and I admit I don't get their smiles....I think its creepier than the Pope or ayatollah but maybe they really do like it there in that room under the Marshal's leadership.

Dunno why I didn't capitalize that....I love Persian culture.
I did not make the world the way it was.

Well I can at least appreciate someone who doesn't sugarcoat their stance with false patriotism or flag waving.

I'm not sure if you meant that the way it came out.

Soon as I hear the term “SJW” I tune out.

My ex used to use it all the time. He drove me nuts with it. Far as I can tell it’s code for “anyone I disagree with over <insert well intentioned left wing behavior here>”.

You understand I'm not the one you're supposed to be explaining this to, right? That I was making fun of your peers' ignorant views?

Yeah, "brown people" is not the term an "SJW" or the media would ever use.

me too. that and the universal "cuck".

some people are just incapable of discussing issues civilly, without insults.

Still to this day, the only place a "sjw" exists on bluelight. Ive never heard a human utter those letters in person, nor have I heard of a "cuck" nor what "brown people" are supposed to be. I'll take it on trust that people use those words in some context...none of my friends are political. This is my frame of reference and I conclude my post.

Mother of god how I envy you. I wish I could have gone my whole life not hearing it in the real world. And hearing it and hearing it and hearing it.........

If you talk like that out loud your rants lose steam:

AlphaCentauri: Don't post at Bluelight, bunch of SJW cucks.
Innocent bystander: S-A what?
AC: "Social Justice Warrior"
IB: What the hell is that? And a, what was the other thing, you mean cocks?
AC: NO, I said 'cucks', y'know, 'cucks,' get it?
IB: No.
AC: Short for 'cuckold'.
IB: You mean it's a support group for guys who are raising someone else's kids? What's wrong with that?
AC: [snort] That's not what it means! L-M-A-O!
IB: Oh, you don't, please don't spell that out loud.

"Nobody could have done what I’ve done for #PuertoRico with so little appreciation. So much work!"

his constant need, to tell everybody how great he is, is shocking for an adult, let alone the president of the united states :\

Puerto Rico: How the island is faring nearly 3 weeks after Hurricane Maria

A few things:

• According to the FEMA, 11.7% of Puerto Rico had power as of Sunday, while only 56.8% had drinkable water.

• Only 392 of Puerto Rico’s 5,073 miles of roads are currently open. (It's not lazy truck drivers!)

• The waiver issued by the federal government waiving the Jones Act, thus lifting restrictions on foreign shipping between U.S. ports, expired Sunday night and will not be renewed. This is bad.

• The official death toll of 45 is expected to rise. Corpses stored in hospital morgues and funeral homes have not been added to the official list because death certificates have yet to be prepared. Also, reports indicate that some people in remote areas have had to resort to burying relatives in mass graves.

Don't worry, House Speaker Paul Ryan is leading a small bipartisan coalition to Puerto Rico view the devastation from Hurricane Maria. No, I don't know why.

Maybe cause it's easier to get away with doing nothing or doing not nearly enough when you can say you've seen it first hand.

Then again, maybe it's cause it's foolish to trust the news to ever show you reality.

Wait, what? Is the reality in Puerto Rico not ruin and devastation? Are you saying you've been there since the Hurricane and seen if firsthand? I'm not snarking, I don't know what you mean.

OK, never mind, figured it out. 36 hours without sleep again, I get a little slow on uptake.

Paul Ryan is a horrible human being, so there is that -- maybe he'll shut down a hospital for kicks.

Unfortunately security issues and politics are in play, so these people always end up getting the VIP tour.

I trust satellite pictures. Puerto Rico is devastated. It's biblical.

What peers? I am actually not politically conservative, 'alt right', etc.

You are the one that needs to understand what I posted; but you're the one that called a light skinned Caucasian/white Dominican/puertorriqueña 'brown' LOL 8)

I have heard SJWs in person and read them online going on about 'brown people' all the time.

Yeah no I can see how what I said is susceptible to misinterpretation.

Mainly cause I added a dig at mainstream media as well which could make the first part of what I said a little confusing.

Im pretty sure you've worked out what I was saying, but just so there's no confusion, yeah I'm not saying they aren't devistated. Just that politicians suck.

Generally the REAL bipartisan reason for politicians to go to a disaster area is always the same, PR photos. Politicians love being seen in the middle of a crisis helping out like everyone else. So they go, pretend to help just long enough to get the photos taken, then come back.

I suppose that's still better than Trumps approach though.

Interesting how this four years is turning out. On one hand, he's awful and seems legitimately insane. Completely arrogant and exclusively concerned with his own interests in addition to being impulsive and just generally bonkers. If his power were unchecked, I think he would likely completely ruin the country beyond any hope of repair. However, since being in he's been blocked on many things despite there being a Republican majority. As a result, I think that there's a good chance of the country getting through the next four years relatively similar to the way it was before...... something I was unsure of at the beginning.

Plus, his new tax plan actually sounds half decent. It would greatly lower taxes for most people in the country. I really hope it passes.

What peers? I am actually not politically conservative, 'alt right', etc . . . I have heard SJWs in person and read them online going on about 'brown people' all the time.

Your argument?
Scrofula referred to Michelle Rodriguez as brown (months ago).
Scrofula said something about race in criticism of the Trump Administration
Therefore Scrofula is an SJW
Therefore SJW's DO use the term
Therefore Scrofula is wrong about whatever he said.
QED double pwn.

I'll stick with my original point:
Travel bans are pointless and don't keep us safe from mass shooters, and are based on racist red meat for Trump voters; Michelle Rodriguez is a sexy brown woman.
