2016 American Presidential Campaign

What's with the Trump supporters saying they don't care that he's lying? 8)

And then going on tirades about hilary lying.

Ever checked Trumps claim record? Something like 15% pants on fire, ie- bold faced lie. And 5% true, with the majority falling in the "false" or "mostly false" category. Don't hold me to the numbers, I'm just pulling them from memory.

Everyone needs to get on the Bernie train because I'm 90% sure he's going to win the whole race. Make sure to do it before he wins NY April 19th so your friends will think you're cool for calling it before the media does.

I'm crazy, you got me.

But how will Sanders implement a socialist economy when the current economy is shit, while vastly expanding the population on the lower end of his income bracket?

There are no good candidates in this election. The border is life or death though.

Exactly.
Even if Sanders were able to achieve everything he is talking about, it's not especially extreme.
It's just different rhetoric to what most Americans are used to hearing, because the whole "meritocracy" myth has poisoned the political discourse so badly that people have actually started to believe that poor people deserve to be poor and suffer.
Aiming to create a fairer society is not an extremist position.

I am starting to have some hope again!

I am even seeing a switch to more progressive ideals in florida. The budget was passed here, and they closed lots of tax loopholes, benefited schools with extra money that they took from *drumroll* corporate handouts that governor rick "I don't recall all that medicare fraud I colluded to commit" scott earmarked out of state funds.

If this is the climate in florida, I can see other states following suit and moving towards a more democratic socialist ideal.\

My hope for a Sanders win continues to grow!

I have never seen something so blatantly corrupt in an American election in my life.

Nevada has a 3 step primary/caucus. The first one was on 2/16. Each Precinct in the state caucuses and people are chosen as delegates to represent each candidate in each precinct. on 2/16 more people came out to caucus for Hillary so she won and would be sending more people to the stage 2 county caucus than Bernie after they whittled down the numbers. A lot of Hillary delegates that were chosen on 2/16 did not show up to the county caucus tonight, and the Democratic party of Nevada tried to make her win anyway. They forcefully removed a pro-Bernie member of the caucus committee so they could vote more non-elected delegates into the county for Hillary. They also started refusing to let Bernie delegates into the caucus. When the Bernie delegates refused to leave, the Nevada

They stood their ground and at the end of tonight, Bernie had more delegates show up than Hillary. That means they'd whittle the number of delegates down again and send the remainder to the state caucus next month. Since Bernie had more tonight, he'll be sending more to the state caucus which means Bernie just retroactively won the state of Nevada despite the attempt to rig the county caucus tonight.

Insane.

Aight treeez I see you.

On another note, as silly as this sounds my entire opinion of the two Democratic candidates can be simplified and boiled down to one thing: food.

Tonight at the Nevada County Causes, over 5,000 people waited in line and then stood around the convention for 5-12 hours depending on when they got there. Roughly half for Hillary and half for Bernie. There were no "vendors" or anything of the sort. It was literally just an empty convention center the Democratic Party of Nevada rented out for the night.

From A LOT of seperate firsthand reports, I know this to be 100% true: Hillary's campaign distributed a bite-sized package of M&Ms(like people hand out on Halloween) and a Pro-Hillary brochure to their delegates while they waited all night. Bernie's campaign brought his delegates Domino's pizza, rice crispy treats, granola bars, Chex Mix, and bottles of water.

Sometimes the type of person you are can be seen in something as simple as how you treat the people waiting in line for hours on your behalf. From what I've read lots of Hillary delegates were munching on the "Socialist pizza." which Bernie's people happily shared. Like I said it all might sound corny, but it's probably not so meaningless when you haven't eaten for 5-12 hours and your "team" hands you a few M&Ms and a brochure.

I wonder how many Hillary delegates didn't show up tonight and how many simply switched sides, since they're allowed to do that. Like I said earlier, there is absolutely no way Hillary should have lost tonight. We're not taking about some new primary where people were voting. We're talking about a state she already won and all her delegates had to do was show up and stay on her side. Instead, Bernie took the state of Nevada away from her somehow. Even the most avid Bernie supporters never even considered that a possibility.

If you ask me, tonight was the beginning of the end for Hillary. Over the next 17 days I expect an epic collapse of her campaign and on the 20th, a day after the NY primary, I expect the discussion to turn sharply to "Bernie vs. Trump in the general election."

That doesn't surprise me coming from the candidate who destroyed Libya and helped create the Syrian refugee crisis because her political adviser told her it would be good for her 2016 Presidential election bid.... her strategy worked so well she can be cheap with her followers at her events. She treats them like sheep because she knows that's what they are and that's how they expect to be treated. Her supporters admire her track record of being an experienced leader with a strong foreign policy in the middle east.

Hillary is falling apart. The realization that she's about to lose a second time to a little known candidate who was given no chance of winning is setting in. She snapped at those Greenpeace activists a few days ago and when I watched her speak at the Wisconsin Democrats dinner last night she was practically yelling. It was very odd.

After Bernie wins WI on Tuesday after being 35 points down a month ago she'll have to debate him in NY, and then everyone will see how unhinged she's become. Then it's game over.

Sooooo...how serious are you? Or even how right are you? Here's why. The odds in the UK for your next President are currently...

(Best odds)

2/5 Clinton

4/1 Trump

12/1 Sanders

14/1 Cruz

Now, I'll give you a wtf?? about Cruz (is that based on Trump dropping out or something?) but I can't see how the bookies, at this stage, would be giving 12/1 on Bernie if your optimism wasn't misplaced GM. Having said that I'd like to make some money...so convince me why you are right and the bookies are wrong.

I'm almost positive Bernie will win. I was optimistic a month ago, now I'm pretty certain after the events of the past 2 weeks. Bernie is surging in every poll and Hillary's campaign is shot. It appears to have been built for a race that would cruise to the Democratic nomination after snuffing out Bernie before the March 15th primaries. That didn't happen and now Clinton has no response. All of the momentum is on Bernie's side right now and it appears to be accelerating, not fading. Hillary's non-white voter bloc has vanished as minorities have learned what Bernie stands for.

You could always wait until Tuesday to see what happens in Wisconsin but I expect Bernie to upset her there and win. That will give him all the momentum heading into NY April 19th. If he wins that, it's over. So over even the mainstream media will have to admit it.

Fact-checking the Clinton-Sanders spat over Big Oil contributions

The Pinocchio Test

The Sanders campaign is exaggerating the contributions that Clinton has received from the oil and gas industry. In the context of her overall campaign, the contributions are hardly significant. It’s especially misleading to count all of the funds raised by lobbyists with multiple clients as money “given” by the fossil-fuel industry.
