2016 American Presidential Campaign

Yeah it would be if that's why I did it. But that's not my reason. Enough people obviously aren't pissed off enough about the established politics in this country yet. Until they are, a candidate like Bernie Sanders can't win. So things need to get worse before they can get better. Trump is the best way for that to happen.

Holy shit, I was just about to say this exact thing. A Trump presidency would be much better for this country in the long run. Think of all the local and state offices that would flip...

Trump is painfully stupid, but I bet he could get the job done better than Moe or Curly(both part of the establishment). To be honest I do not so much care who becomes president as I do who becomes the next SCOTUS justice. In 2013 there was 5-4 vote in favor of the second amendment essentially not being written out of the constitution, if judicial precedence means anything, which it does. If we get an activist court in place you can kiss the constitution good bye, and being a constitutionalist it scares me. I do agree that the corrupt establishment is what has pushed us to have silly candidates like Trump and Bernie. I think even with trump being a brash arrogant hot head he would do less damage than Hilary or Bernie for that matter.

Have you seen Trump rallies? These people don't need to get more pissed off, they need to die. And not like right away, I mean like a generational change.

All the folks who were taught racism by their parents who were clinging onto segregation need to die before minorities can be accepted as human beings in America.

Trump people aren't pissed off at the real establishment. They are clearly quite happy about it.

OIt's depressing seeing working-class people get taken in by this "plain speaking" (read: crass mouthing-off) circus act, and vote against their own best interests.

And yes, it takes a special kind of crazy to make you feel like you're losing it, just by listening to them speak.

Have the recent sexual assault allegations made against Trump made headlines in the US?
I'm not paying close attention at the moment, the news is all too bleak.

Sadly I think his line "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue, shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters" while a typical hyperbolic boast, is probably not so far from the truth - his support doesn't seem to come from people that are particularly politically engaged.

I hope that any Trump presidency causes the sort of Republican ruptures and infighting that Australia's federal government has been plagued with since former leader (and arch-conservative crackpot) Tony Abbott was elected, then deposed by his own partyroom.

Obviously any similarities between him and Trump are superficial at best (due to the differences in the political system and cultures of both countries) - but i feel that a triumphant Trump will bring endless headaches for the Republican party - even if "moderates" (a pretty meaningless term at the best of times, but especially now) are thin on the ground amongst Republicans.

A campaign fought on ego and braggadocio is all well and good - but it's hard to imagine Donald having the sort of pragmatism or political skill required to get the party to rally around him if he does become President.

In the instance of a Trump win, i imagine a lot of humiliating moments will be inevitable, especially for the Republican party.

Having said that, they stuck behind Dubya for two terms - but he had...family connections (or something).
Perhaps Trump will be the last of the neo-con con-artists.
Let's hope so - and not just for the sake of the USA, but for all of us.

HRC is a war monger. She is the closest thing to GWB as far as foreign policy. GWB destroyed Iraq. As senator, HRC voted for the invasion of Iraq. As secretary of state HRC destroyed Libya. It boggles the mind why she would start this war after seeing what US intervention recently did to Iraq. Even worse she pushed for ousting Assad after the previous fa8lures. Together these two (bush and Mrs clinton) have destablized the Middle East and parts of Africa.
Those who liked GWB will doubtless like HRC. 8 more years of the same policies and corruption except she'll take your guns.

She is too divisive a candidate and enough Democrats will either abstain or vote for a third party rather than vote for her. If nominated, Trump has a strong chance of beating her .

At least if Trump is president, things will crash and burn fast and painless as opposed to derailing in a long slow train wreck goes on for years.

Her behavior is well documented. Polite people would be offended when someone acts this way. It's not acceptable. Yet half the country adores her despite what she says and does. My question is are her supporters stupid or do they lack moral character?.
Hillary Clinton ran against Obama in 2008. Demonizes Sanders for suggesting someone else run against him in 2012.
Hillary Clinton demonizes Sanders for criticizing a few Obama policies. She stokes the "Obama is a secret Muslim" flames in 2008 on 60 minutes.

I would not underestimate Hillary's ability to control, or perhaps preempt, Donald's likely strategy. She and Bill control the DNC. With the RNC in shambles, the Clintons and Debbie Wasserman Schultz will be an extremely formidable machine. After all, Trump's fuel is his arrogance and his arrogance has been fueled by his popularity among a fairly minuscule segment of voters. Once the media has what it wants (a Trump vs. Hillary general), it will shift its focus from keeping Trump afloat (and feigning objectivity) to actually trying to sink him. They haven't actually tried yet.

The more they chip away at his popularity, the more his numbers will diminish, and his little motor will begin to sputter out.

The South Carolina results are pathetic. WTF is wrong with the blacks? The first time she was in the White House, her husband signed the law that resulted in increased incarceration for non-violent offenses that targeted blacks. He also gutted the welfare system.

Why Hillary Clinton Doesn’t Deserve the Black Vote
From the crime bill to welfare reform, policies Bill Clinton enacted—and Hillary Clinton supported—decimated black America.
By Michelle Alexander

It seems that we—black people—are her winning card, one that Hillary is eager to play.

And it seems we’re eager to get played. Again.

The love affair between black folks and the Clintons has been going on for a long time. It began back in 1992, when Bill Clinton was running for president. He threw on some shades and played the saxophone on The Arsenio Hall Show. It seems silly in retrospect, but many of us fell for that. At a time when a popular slogan was “It’s a black thing, you wouldn’t understand,” Bill Clinton seemed to get us. When Toni Morrison dubbed him our first black president, we nodded our heads. We had our boy in the White House. Or at least we thought we did.

Black voters have been remarkably loyal to the Clintons for more than 25 years. It’s true that we eventually lined up behind Barack Obama in 2008, but it’s a measure of the Clinton allure that Hillary led Obama among black voters until he started winning caucuses and primaries. Now Hillary is running again. This time she’s facing a democratic socialist who promises a political revolution that will bring universal healthcare, a living wage, an end to rampant Wall Street greed, and the dismantling of the vast prison state—many of the same goals that Martin Luther King Jr. championed at the end of his life. Even so, black folks are sticking with the Clinton brand.

What have the Clintons done to earn such devotion? Did they take extreme political risks to defend the rights of African Americans? Did they courageously stand up to right-wing demagoguery about black communities? Did they help usher in a new era of hope and prosperity for neighborhoods devastated by deindustrialization, globalization, and the disappearance of work?

No. Quite the opposite.
Wake up.

Assuming that big government candidates hold black peoples best interests is a racist view IMO. I have held this view for a while now and I am not sure how the thinking goes that beleiving a specific group of people needs to be taken care of is not questionable. I believe all people benefit from a limited government with a strong emphasis on liberty.

I pointed out bill Clintons weflare reforms and crime legislation because they disproportionately hurt black people. Assuming the Clintons care about blacks is a form of racism. There is a special term to describe it but i forget what it is. And tge Clintons actions prove the assumption is false. Reagan didnt even have the stomach to do what the Clintons did. My impression is that the Clintons say what blacks want to hear and then do the opposite. I'm very surprised they continue to support the Clintons. What you said are current issues and worth looking at critically.

Yeah Bill destroyed the black community with his mandatory minimums. Hilary is corrupt to her very core and very good at hiding it. Bernie fricking marched in streets against segregation! I think if his message had been put out in a more effective way he would be competitive in the southern primaries. I may wen of swung over to a vote for Bernie if the scotus wasn't at the risk of becoming an activist panel. You know it is in danger when Clarence Thomas has to start speaking to government lawyers lol

way to completely miss the point, droppers.

so it's ok for trump to go into jon stewart's family lineage to mock him but when john oliver does the same to point out trump's hypocrisy, only then you have a problem? did you even watch the thing or just jump straight to your erroneous conclusion?

:\

Bro I've been standing in line for an hour to vote. The damn computers went down. All to hopefully vote for rand Paul whom might still be on the tn ballot. I like aspects of trump but his name calling turns me off also his lack of substance. Sure I'll vote for him in the general but that is only to protect the scotus from becoming an activist panel. In 2013 we came 2 votes away from abolishing the 2nd amendment.
