That is roughly 166 dollars a year per person in the US, or about 13 dollars a month per person. Not huge savings when you look at it that way.
We will never lower our deficit if we think of everything in these terms. If we itemize each bit of wasteful government spending into a per person per month amount they may individually look small. If we take the aggregate of all these "small costs" (in this case only $166 per person per year for this medical malpractice costs). If you work at a business, and have a cost of $3.8 trillion per year whether it's production cost or shipping cost, any cost and can trim 1% from that, you would be promoted, you would be given a raise, your boss would be estatic. The government if it was a business would have closed all its stores a few years ago and filed for bankruptcy but for years (particulary of George Bush and Obama) we've ben running a deficit, costs don't matter there is unlimited lines of credit and whenever we need to pay off our credit we raise a previous tax or find something new to tax.
