i heard about the study by hilary hylton (a drug to end drug addiction) in my uni studies yesterday, and looked her up, and found this article. basically at first addicts can either voluntarily or be legally coerced (with lower jail time as a reward) into accepting these future "vaccines" which essentially remove all the enjoyment from a particular chemical. the scary road this leads down to, which is mentioned in the article, is the potential for widely immunising children from highs.

What if science made a pill to protect us from addiction — keeping us from smoking cigarettes, getting fat or abusing drugs and alcohol? According to encouraging results from several lines of study, it seems that day may be closer than we thought. Researchers in labs around the world are now developing vaccines (not a pill, but an injection) to inoculate people against dangerously addictive substances such as cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine. Within "one to 10 years, and closer to one year," says Dr. Frank Vocci, director of treatment research and development at the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA), scientists may produce a vaccine against cocaine — one of the more promising areas of research — that can potentially help millions of addicts, two million in the U.S. alone.

sorry, sv, for my not finding those. i did one title only search for "vaccine" in drug studies. was about to post this in there, but opted to post here, but failed to search thoroughly. my bad.

none of these have been proven to work in humans, have they?

I know that with the coke vaccines, people have simply overcome the immune response by upping the dose.

Also, with the opiate ones, there are concerns that the vaccine may inactivate prescribed pain killers as well. What they're trying to do in response is make vaccines specific to diacetylmorphine and its euphoric metabolite 6-MAM, but inactive towards morphine.
