Hi my fellow BL members,

Here's a couple random questions about Morphine that I researched, but couldn't find the answer I was looking for. So any info is appreciated! Thanks guys!

(1) If you snort Morphine IR tabs, will the drug stay in your system for a longer or shorter duration than if you were to ingest it? Keep in mind, I'm NOT talking about the length of the "high", I'm talking about the duration in which it would be detected by, say, a drug test.

Someone tried to explain "half-life" of drugs to me before, but I didn't quite get it. Just wondering if there's a difference.

(2) How come when I snort Morphine it makes me cough. I find this a little weird, as I'm not a "noobie" when it comes to experimenting with drugs, and I've snorted Oxy, Coke and Xanax in the past and none of those made me cough. I know this seems like a dumb question, but I'm just curious. The cough isn't bad or painful, just a tickle. And goes away about a minute or two after the pill has been snorted.

And for those of you against snorting pills. This is definitely not the place to judge another person in comparison to what YOU do. No one person's drug habit is better than another's. So keep disrespectful comments to yourself. Thanks.

We don't allow drug testing questions here.

As far as why its making you cough, its most likely the drip from you snorting the powder is tickling your cough reflexes.

It's not a drug testing question!

I was just using that as an example so people could understand what I was talking about.

I'll explain what a "half life" is and then close this.

Half life is best explained as the amount of time it takes for the amount of the drug in your system to be cut in half. Let's say, for example's sake, that morphine has a half life of 4 hours. That means if you took 10mg of morphine, 4 hours later, you'd have 5mg in your system (1/2 of 10mg), then, 4 hours after that, you'd have 2.5mg in your system (1/2 of 5mg) and so on.

Of course, this is in a perfect world and its just an example. Everybody's body works differently, so we can't tell for sure. There are countless factors that influence half-life and drug elimination rates. Plus, it sounds like a drug testing question ;)

Closing now.
