2-MDP Information

So in my nightly Wikipedia and Google adventures, I found a weird chemical clip on Wikipedia for a drug called 2-MDP. It's one of the Morphinan class of Dissociative's not sure what it's related to and I'm really failing in finding any information on it what so ever besides this trailer of an article.


"2-MDP (U-23807A) is a dissociative anaesthetic drug which has been found to be an NMDA antagonist and produces similar effects to PCP in animals. The levo or (-) isomer is the active form of the drug. It also has stimulant effects, having only around one third the potency of amphetamine by weight, but with a long duration of action, lasting more than 24 hours from a single oral dose."

So I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this chemical or at least has a bit of information that they could throw my way.

Don't know of any reports on it. The stimulant & dissociative effects, combined with the long duration & comparison to pcp make me think it would have a higher likelihood of causing a psychotic break or severe manic reaction. I like dissociatives fairly well, but I'd stay away from that one.

I read a bioassay of this compound, that claimed it was horribly unpleasant, a nightmare they wished they could escape from, and very long lasting. Not sure how reliable it was though, feel free to confirm or disprove this for yourself

I concur. From a SAR standpoint, this compound is pretty interesting: it does not contain the cyclohexane moiety, yet it retains dissociative effects. It is structurally similar to desoxypipradrol, and to a lesser extent ritalin, so perhaps the stimulant effects follow therefrom. Most of the relevant references on this compound are quite dated, from a period where our tools of pharmacological inquiry were quite rough. So I'd stay away from tasting this one.

I loved ketamine + amphetamine, and mdma + ketamine always gets good reviews, so I've been interested in the idea of the nmda-antagonism and stimulant properties of 2-mdp

The question is whether it's even still around a simple google search only reveals bioassay and nothing of any real substance on it, if any one has had any experience with it please come out of your shadowy alley way where you sling mad rocks and lay down some information. The only person here I know who has claimed to have taken it was HolyCow in some long lost archive thread. But it seems rather interesting to me because of it's dissociative effects mixed with the amphetamine quality.
