The Firecat has wandered around google and some site and found that some compound grants their psychoactivity due to the structure. These 2-aminobicyclic has the amino group on the similar position as PEA

2-aminoindane (like a alpha-methyl fold back to aromatic ring)

and 2-aminotetralin (like an alpha-ethyl fold back to aromatic ring)

also their N-alkyl analogs, and thier aromatic substituents.

however the journals have to be paid to access.

Any Bluelighters has information on these substance regarding effects, metabolic pathway, toxicity and the law?

for substituted ones: the papers by david nichols papers are free in certain places I think MAPS has them certainly Rhodium used to have them, search for MDAI and MMAI, also check the copy of rhodiums .pdf archive at erowid.

as for effects 2AI is mentioned several times on BL also on erowid

2 AI is quite an effective analgesic but a mediocre stimulant.

the 2 Aminotetralin is mentioned on BL as well.

I've not looked very hard and found lots...

2-AI is not very difficult to accqire, nor is it that worthy of interest.

I had a vial of the stuff, and I simply threw it in the garbage when I needed to move and have minimal drugs on me.

2-AI seems to have good NSAID-like qualities (cured a headache very efficiently), but otherwise, it is complete trash as a stimulant. At low doses it hardly produces any stimulation, and at high-doses it produces a dopaminergic-familiar vertigo + nausea + hypertension toxic effect.

definitely right about the anti-inflammatory properties of the stuff.

I still take amphetamine for pain, though.

2-AT is very toxic to humans without much in the way of recreational effects. Don't know anything about substituted variants. Be careful when mucking around with things with a lot of similarity to dopamine.

I know MDAI and MD-aminotetralin are both considered non-neurotoxic MDMA analogues, and substitute for MDMA to a degree in lab-rats.

You take amphetamine for pain? Can you elaborate on this?

I find that for some reason, amphetamine works great for minor aches, such as tooth ache or headache.

I have amphetamine prescribed for ADD, but if I have generalized achiness, I'll take 10mg of racemic amphetamine and I'm good to go.

I don't have any sort of tolerance, though. My blood pressure goes up dramatically using it even 2 days in a row, so I avoid it as best I can.

there are many substances that are analgesic that work via neurotransmitter mechanisms of which amphs certainly affect and not surprising can in some have analgesic effect

tramadol comes to mind, but there are many, though most of course not nearly opiate type strength and few pursued as pharmas
