16 days clean

i have 16 days clean and it feels great but i'm scared about losing everything i've worked for the fact that my dad still shoots up isn't helping my situation idk i just really want to get my shit together this time
 
Remove yourself from the situation when your Dad is using or even talking about using.
Don't allow temptation a chance to grow.
16 days from using is a great sign.(congrats)
You have the ability/choice to stay clean now.
I would suggest hitting meetings (or this site) when you are tempted to use.
Get those feelings out of your head.
The tired old record of using again doesn't sound so great when you play it all the way thru. Other addicts can help you see this.
Don't put the hancuffs back on.
Stay strong!
 
i've been going to aa meeting but as far as removing myself from the situation i can't i live with my dad and g pa and they need to to help take care of them

But you have a friends house or something you can go round if he is using? Have you spoken to him and asked him not to use around you? I think you probably need to have a conversation and explain that you are trying to stay clean and that you need all the help you can get and him making sure he isn't engaging in behaviour that will tempt you is a huge part of that.

It's pretty much always possible to remove yourself from the situation. It might mean making some sacrifices (sometimes huge ones), but you have to weigh up how much you want too stay clean against those things.

Congratulations on 16 days, that's great stuff especially being in the situation you are.
 
i've talked with my dad and he is hiding his use now and damn it feels good to have not stuck myself with a needle in 17 days it's hard to take my meds as prescribed but it's so worth it
 
i'm back in aa going to meetings whenever i can get a ride i just need to find a sponsor anyone have any tips on how to choose a sponsor
 
I'm not a 12 step person any more but the best advice I was given on said question is to look for someone who has the stuff you want and ask them. I don't mean they got nice clothes or car or whatever, but they've got the character traits and bahaviours and relationships etc that you would like to have.
