1,4-bdo (excessive use 24/7) making my liver or stomach "beat"?

anyclue anyone? I've been online for a couple hours looking into this. I stopped all 1,4 use like 3 weeks ago, during my few months of 24/7 use i started to notice that my liver (right above my stomach and below my heart?) was beating like it had a pulse. I OD'd on pods (ER all that shit) a week ago and the doctor said I had over 3 times the elavated white cell count. I've never heard of opiates(oids) doing any of this. As I type this, the organ still "thumps"...I'm going to the hospital's outpatient tomorro for follow up labs
 
You will not hear good news no matter what.

GHB is, IMO, one most dangerous drugs. 1,4-b has all the negatives of GHB plus being a stronger irritant PLUS being possibly more toxic.

I am glad you stopped using. Do know that if you start using again you will experience nothing other than more pain.

From the way you describe your drug use, I'm actually surprised you're still alive.

Only a thorough examination by a doctor can tell you what's wrong, we cannot - the only thing we can do is warn you, which usually falls on deaf ears.

One thing I can tell you though, is that your live is on the right side of your body, at the bottom half of your rib-cage.

I sincerely do hope you haven't damaged yourself seriously, and that this will simply be a wake-up call.
 
LOL I didn't even notice that. That's not where your heart is. You should take an anatomy class, you're probably talking about your stomach.
 
I'm sure if you OD'd they likely tested your liver function (AST/ALT) and I'm guessing it couldn't have been all that bad. White blood cell elevations could be from infections or leukemia. What kind of leukocytosis was it? They must have done a CBC too.
 
Liver is located in the upper right abdominal quadrant, stomach is located in the upper left quadrant.

The liver is completely devoid of muscle tissue, and so it cannot "beat".

The stomach is a muscle lined organ and so can contract, however sensations from the stomach are percieved by the brain to be originating from the mid-thoracic/epigastric regions (eg upper/center of your chest). For example, the sensation of heart burn (acid reflux) in the stomach/esophagus is commonly mistaken for heart pain/heart attack.

MOST LIKELY what is happening is fasciculations/clonus (small unconsciously controlled contractions) occurring in the muscles which overlay the abdominal wall. I've experienced these in the muscles in my hands, forearms, and in my chest wall (muscles overlaying/between ribs) during both GHB withdrawal (up to 2 weeks after) and also GHB abuse (24/7 useage). Probably some type of GABA mediated effect.

Still, you should definitely have your doctor work you up for liver disease, better safe than sorry.

If you could post back with your test results it would be informative for everyone here...

Going to disagree there, a pulsatile liver is often seen in people with right sided heart failure and tricuspid (a right sided heart valve) regurgitation.

I doubt you have this tho..
 
^Who knows, he could have tricuspid insufficiency, that's what I thought when I read the title.. blood gurgles back down the inferior vena cava and pressure rises through the hepatic veins, causing blood to pool in the liver.

Intravenous drug use can often cause heart valve problems due to bacteria invading the valves and destroying them. (infective endocarditis)

# Patients who inject narcotics intravenously may introduce infection which will travel to the right side of the heart classically affecting the tricuspid valve, and most often caused by S. aureus.

Based on dexter's excessive drug usage I wouldn't be surprised if he had IV'd anything. Best to get a heart checkup dexter, get checked for heart murmurs.
 
Answered by medical science yesterday...

My heart is pushing up against my liver a little bit..so with each heart beat my liver giggles..I definately fucked up my heart from drug use but I've had a lot of labs done in the past couple weeks and it's actually fine. My liver is what I was most worried about..Dr. said to simply lose some fucking weight and not stress the liver like every fucking second how I have been...my liver is a little inflamed.. The high white cell count (you know you get leukemeia when it gets high enough), was because so much vomit ended up in my lungs...they are completely fine now..I was on like 3 antibiotics 2 of them on my IV cathater.

And nah...I'm never doing 1,4 again
