The Entheogenesis Australis Symposium will present over 20 lectures and discussion panels featuring an array of renowned international and Australian speakers.

The symposium's aim is to bring together diverse and engaging scientific and cultural perspectiveson exploring consciousness through psychoactive substances.The program draws on botany, pharmacology, therapy, psychology, anthropology, politics, law, art and more, to provide a realistic context of the role drugs and altered states play in today's world.

EGA's 10-year anniversary psychedelic symposium is confirmed for Saturday 6 December 2014 in Melbourne, and the tickets go on sale in the next week.

Over the last decade, the EGA conference has provided a major meeting place for Australia's ethnobotanical and psychonaut communities, and this year will be no exception, with an interesting variation on our usual format to showcase a very impressive line up.

If people support the event we can do our best to keep putting up talks over time, but we need people to come to the conference and support what we are trying to do first and for most.

In less than 4 days we will be gathering for the 10-year Anniversary EGA Psychedelic Symposium. This year’s program has a strong international lineup; 5 guests from around the world will join us to cover a wide range of topics including Ayahuasca Shamanism, Ibogaine Treatment for Opioid Dependence, ‘Synthetic’ Drug Regulation, and Underground Psychedelic Therapy… and that is just the tip of the programming iceberg.

We have come a long way since our first official EGA event in 2004, before which there was an annual plant meeting in an outer eastern suburbs library. Today, EGA is a world-renowned conference event, a leader in presenting psychedelics as having positive potential, and a think tank for drug law reform advocates around Australia.

We hope you can join us for another chapter in the important discussion around sacred plants & chemicals, and psychedelic science & culture.
