Communists in the old days definitely weren’t terribly tolerant of sexual tendencies which deviated from the norm, with the exception of some more libertarian-inclined ones like Emma Goldman. Even those communists with same-sex attractions/interests (like Elizabeth Gurley Flynn for example) kept it to themselves and there was a big emphasis on drawing a clear line between your personal life and political work. Most of the tolerance we associate the far left with today regarding personal choices an individual makes in their life, like whether to sleep with someone of the same sex or whether to consume recreational drugs, etc, only has really been a “thing” since the 1960s/1970s (again, with the exception of certain libertarian left ideologies)

I think it's common sense we shouldn't descriminate against anyone for their sexual preferrences or a man who wants to dress up as a woman, or vice versa etc. A little compassion for others and their life choices goes a long way. We are all humans.
What concerns me is things like this
7 years in jail now for any parents in Scotland who deny their children gender surgery. Children are impressionable at that age. When i was a kid i wanted to be a cowboy, then a wrestler, then a footballer, then spiderman. But those are just phases, i don't want to be any of those things now. Like thing of all the hormone drugs someone needs to transition, this is going to end in both a phyisical as well as mental health crisis in our children in years to come. As well as parents suffering for trying to do right by their kids.
I mean it is odd, our politicians who have no compassion or empathy whatsoever for people who are homeless, addicts, disabled or anything else, have such an interest in the LGBT community. Seems to be their only interest is likely to be for sinister reasons rather than out of any real care or concern for the people.

When I was a kid I wanted to be a ninja or a pirate. I don’t think I would’ve wanted plastic surgery on my face to make me look more Japanese or to have my leg amputated to I could have a peg leg, though.
Point is, the process to become trans is a pretty long, grueling, painful and intensive one. I can’t imagine anyone going through years and years of it unless it was something they really wanted on a personal level. Some people here in the USA want to portray it as a situation in which some innocent little tyke confesses to some “gender confusion” and the doctor immediately says, welp, that’s it, you’re trans now! Quick, wheel him into the OR stat so we can cut his dick off right away! (You don’t have to know the first thing about gender-related healthcare to know that this is bullshit, all it takes for any thinking person to realize it’s bullshit is pretty much any unfortunate interaction with the American healthcare system) Let’s cut off the tree and split the stump y’all, yeeehaw!
It’s also interesting to me how some political activists on this issue seem to want to paint a picture simultaneously of two interpretations regarding the lives of trans people. One is that it’s all a fad that’s targeting impressionable yuts. Trans people are luring them away from being gender-normative by the allure and sexy status of life as a trans person I guess? But then there’s another simultaneous interpretation, that says that these kids are being lured into a world of ridicule, shame and humiliation, where they’re probably gonna end up killing themselves or something. It’s like it can’t be a “fad” when the people who are responsible for the fad are treated as the absolute dregs of society, now can it
It’s no surprise to me why a lot of well-meaning libtards support sexual minorities. There is very, very little expenditure involved in doing so. If you’re in the USA and you want to materially improve the lives of, say, the working poor, or homeless, or African Americans, or maybe you want to make a meaningful difference improving the environment, that’s all gonna take expenditure. Grandstanding around some bullshit culture war issue that directly impacts like 1% of the American population requires little expenditure, which is why it has been so popular among troglodytes of the left & right

I claim that most of the people who claim being trans, ain't confused about their gender in such coherent manner that being trans could be reduced solely to "being confused". Rather, many other people are confused about them.
