You ever wonder what happened to all those profiles you click just to see ”Last Seen:” show up? How many died? How many left for a better life? How many are rotting away in a jail cell? Where are they? Are they okay?

Its one of the things that makes bluelight hit a bit harder than other forums for me. Almost feels like their profiles tell me their lifespan, hits extra hard when I see someones profile who has been around for many years only to have gone inactive recently. Like I just missed them and now theyre gone forever

It’s especially hard if they were struggling a lot and then disappear from the site suddenly. I understand why people might stop posting but it’s difficult to not know what happened. We really do form bonds with people on here.

Also part of why I love bluelight, it feels like this safe hidden corner of the internet. One of the more authentic and welcoming forums I have had the honor to be part of.
I agree. Maybe because going through withdrawals is such a deeply painful and personal experience? I do think that creates a bond between the people on here.

Ya BL really is its own thing. I see it as a sort of last stand against the modern internet sucking. This is the one place not filled with ai slop and right wing hate. It is sort of a oasis in a sea of shit if you will

I often wonder about people who just disappear offf here to. That has happened to me with a few friends as well and i still wonder what happened to them. Hopefully they just moved on and are doing great

Sometimes it can be a bitter irony. Such as when someone makes a thread detailing a particularly heinous circumstance they are in; undoubtedly a colossal struggle. And I’m sure they feel the special pain of how not many would want to be them at that moment in time. Then they vanish without the end of their story. The irony is that very circumstance, if shared, would have helped so many. To the point where that trying circumstance may have actually been worthwhile.
