I don't see how providing them with inexpensive medication that will allow them to get their lives back is special treatment. It's no more special treatment than tax breaks for the super-rich, or help with retirement funds for "honest hardworking level headed people." You also keep forgetting that when addicts are stabilized with prescribed opiates, they often become "honest hardworking level headed people," and will most likely be able to pay for the drugs themselves. Where is the special treatment in that?
 
ITs the conservatives that oppose this type of progress. It makes sense though, people who get addicted to money, get addicted to smack. Its because they give in to fear. Fear of being cold, broke, and alone. Makes it easy to pick up a bad habit or two. Workaholic, alcoholic, whatever...
 
^It might. Since it would likely increase the number of taxpayers, and reduce the number hopelessly incarcerated draining on the tax base, its certainly worth a shot. ;)
