An entity I met online claims to have found a variety of GABAergic plants with a mildly psychedelic quality on a large plot of land he owns. He sent photographs to visually ID, experience reports, and DOIs to academic literature I then pirated, read, and yeah these plants should run a high chance of containing some compounds that exhibit those activities. Given there's likely no reference standard for these compounds however, how would I go about having anything meaningful come from any form of mass spec analysis?

I don’t think that mass spec analysis would yield anything unless you wanted to commission some references to be created based on the extracted compounds.

But please send those DOIs.

Looks like tregar is resurrecting in trip reports. Yes tregar deleted his own thread. I mean I would have preferred one thread on the topic instead of 3. All the info refuting ideas were in there. But wow that thread got reported to high heaven.

But a nice plant that makes a tea that feels like 1200 mgs of gabapentin or 200 mgs of pregabalin would be nice. Dissociatives too, nothing like ketamine in nature? I'd like a glimpse into the future of plants and drugs.

Long, long ago someone noted that if certain fungi are grown in a medium containing a tryptamine, they take that tryptamine and 4-hydroxylate it.

So I admit to being QUITE surprised that we have yet to see them as if someone were to go with a rare fungus, it's impossible to prove a negative i.e. if they CLAIM that 4-OH AMT (as an example) occur in nature, what the legal position is, I don't know.

And here is the loop-hole. With ANY chemical, intent MATTERS. If you can show you had a perfectly legitimate use for a chemical, it isn't an offence.

So since for such fungi those chemicals really are part of (an admittedly odd choice of) substrate then it seems not offence is comitted.

I won't bore you with the details but can say this isn't just my speculation.

New class? If that happens than the BLer has access to mass spec and a lab.

I've honestly been dipping my toes into isoquinolines lately. for example Tetrahydropalmatine which is a protoberberine from Yan Huo So, an ancient chinese medicine plant. Not sure if we'll find any hallucinogens in the class (though it's extremely diverse) but Sasha was always interested in them due to their presence in peyote. I now see why he was interested in them in his later years and aside from the index his last book was on the class. It's about as daunting as studying "indole alkaloids" which there are many thousands.

Anyway the THP has been great for regulating my sleep schedule. I do notice slight tolerance build up with it.

How's everybody doing lately?

I'm a little better than I had been a week or so ago. Hard to say though. Not looking forward to returning to work tomorrow, in the slightest...

I looked up one of my old vendors from five years ago and saw that they are still selling stuff. They have 2F-DCK for a very decent price as well as 4F-MPH and a few tryptamines and benzos I'd like more of. Thinking about ordering some soon with the goal of taking the 2F-DCK in February when I can take drugs again. Even coffee doesn't work for me right now, which is absolute bullshit. I'm losing my damn mind. Still got over three months of sobriety left that I am struggling with, hard.

In sober news, I have setup a new 20gal long freshwater fish tank in my living room. It looks good so far, but gotta toss the cheap HOB filter. It's shitty. Makes so much motor noise and sucks air into the intake, creating a crackling sound. Not great for a TV room tank. Got a fancy new filter to replace it today, gonna try that out in a bit. Got lots of plants and rocks I'm scattering throughout to create a nice variety of hiding places and varied visual depth. Plan to get some red cherry shrimp and once they're established and breeding, adding a beta, assuming I can create adequate hiding for the shrimp fry. Otherwise it might be a bloodbath lol

How's everybody doing lately?

I'm pretty well. I've been taking psychedelics a lot more frequently lately, albeit mostly mini doses. This is something my health didn't really allow for over most of the last two years, but now if feels like it's accelerating my progress toward greater well being.

I don't recall you saying anything about a period of enforced sobriety, but if that means you're not drinking, that's a good thing right?

Oh and betas are nuts. I've seen them die from seeing their own reflections.

I'm being treated with an antibiotic that I have to take for four months total with no alternative options, that is so harsh on the liver that a drop of drink isn't even a possibility. Other drugs simply don't work, such as my alprazolam for panic, IBS, and insomnia (which have all returned two fold vs what they ever were before).

Yes I want to drink less. No, I don't want to be forced to drink nothing. Already cancelled my plans to see any family at the holidays this year. Didn't get to go to Renfest this year (first time I've missed it in 9 years). Constantly having horrible side-effects. Haven't had a full night's sleep in almost a month. Constant diarrhea. It doesn't get much worse than this. I've lost 15 pounds this month, which I cannot afford to lose.

Yeah we also have this thread and this brand new user with a single comment. Sounds a lot like Tregar/schill. Well BL was peaceful for a couple months at least, but I do pretty much have a sworn mission to stop this bullshit at the source.
