I think hardcore atheists and a lot of believers alike seem to be under the impression that religious texts and its concepts such as "god" are supposed to be interpreted literally rather than allegorically.
It's much more that religious texts are applied selectively by those in power
in other words by worshiping jesus in return you go to heaven otherwise you burn in hell.
unless you're a child born into another religion, in which case you get a pass as god will judge them "justly".
Everyone else needs to have conscious faith in jesus to be saved.
Except that is when the bible is interpreted by people that God may apply Christ’s saving work to people who never had a genuine opportunity to know him, in that case it's just presumably the people who stopped believing or converted to another religion who go to hell regardless of how good and moral a life they led.
But God judges with perfect justice, taking into account what each person knew, the opportunities they had, and how they responded to conscience and truth. Therefore, Christians should not claim certainty about the fate of every sincere adult from another faith; that judgment belongs to God.
it's such self contradicting BS written by & then "interpreted" by humans who have the arrogance to think they could understand a deity, when they can't even keep the text consistent from 1 translation to another let alone agree on the interpretation,
Bring back stoning for people who collect wood on a sabbath I say
