I have a pretty high tolerance to opiates and take a mix of h and fent every few hours, always nasally. I've been back on h for around 2 years, but on this specific routine for probably 6 months or so. For the last 2 months or so I have had constant sinus congestion.
After taking a dose, I can always get a drain and can always get a little bit of a burn and taste it.
Yesterday I had to re-up and had been without for roughly 5-6 hours. I got my stuff and took my normal dose, nasally. It was the same stuff I always get. I did not get the burn, could not taste it and did not get a drain.
What I did get was a lump in the back of my throat that felt a lot like what it feels like when you get strep throat. Again, no drain, no burn, no taste, nothing.
I noticed that I also had a raised area on the side of my nose about an inch under my eye on the side I administered the dose. I pressed on it and it got smaller and my sinuses kind of drained on that side. After about an hour, I was able to taste a little of the dose, especially after pressing on the spot.
I looked up the anatomy of the nasal passages and there is a pocket right where the raised area occurred. In the diagram it shows that area can get congested with fluid.
Anyone have an idea of what could have happened?
