It can help with anxiety, restlessness, muscle aches, sleep (less so but to some extent).
just be aware that your body has a max amount it can absorb of gabapentin before your LAT1 gets saturated, the more you take effectively the lower the bioavailability drops, so that when you're up to 3.5g bioavailability is something like 33%.
don't waste your drugs taking more gabapentin at that point imho...
if you're not getting what you need at 4g you could maybe consider a swap to pregabalin with/without something else, it depends what withdrawal symptoms you're trying to tackle by taking gabapentin in the 1st place? maybe something else could be more effective, depends where you're at....sorry I don't know enough about opioid withdrawal to best advise, just what I've picked up in passing
IIRC 3600mg gabapentin is about the same as 600mg of pregabalin, you can push pregab much higher though because it doesn't have the same LAT1 constraint, just be careful because tolerance ramps fast with it, if you take it daily starting at 600mg with no tolerance after a week you'll need ~800-900mg for the same effect....
and keep taking it daily for a few weeks and you're going to start bumping up into dependence and withdrawal issues.
pregab/gabapentin work very well with other gaba drugs so depending on your symptoms you might actually want a lower pregab/gab dosage alongside occasional other gaba drugs, something like soma or diazepam or kpin depending on what symptoms are driving you nuts - bare minimum amount to do the job
not really, it's absorbed in the small intestine, just eat it.
I know you know what you're doing
@ChemicallyEnhanced so this next line isn't aimed at you but for anyone else who's reading - there's a danger here of just swapping 1 addiction for another (or even multiple!), doing an opioid taper using gaba drugs to help for a short time is very different from going cold turkey from opioids and starting to abuse gaba drugs daily instead.....and there is CNS risk stacking gaba drugs (benzos especially) on opiods.
