It is amazing how fast a previously opiate dependent person develops tolerance. In a recent hospital stay it took me under two days of very moderate hydrocodone (3 doses of 10mg) for that dose to seem negligible. That was after over a decade of total abstinence except one short medical use of codeine following a surgery.
