The Doctor of Anthropology I am friends with had her students "go native with a supernatural practice and study themselves."
This is what he uploaded as part of his course & it's really good.

I was thinking about posting this in S&T but I think it is just mostly
taking a p*ss.

10 Dogs Wolves Fear | The Only Dogs That Can Defeat a Wolf

Some absolute beasts of dogs here. Tbh I never knew that any dog could defeat a wolf.

But here are 10 of them. Some of them are so fearsome that the wolves just know not to even try.

I'd heard of, and seen photos of the Irish Wolfhound before, but did not realise that they literally hounded wolves - to the point of their total extinction in Ireland. Although they are absolutely huge, they look relatively gentle and good natured, at least when with humans, compared to the other breeds shown here.

I know RB's reputation is at rock bottom right now, but even so, there's some interesting points in this video.

For instance, who knew that RFK was a heroin addict for 14 years?

Also, RFK comes out strongly attacking the over-medicalisation of the population, especially with regards to the SSRI medications.

Despite being embarrassingly clueless about Autism, he's gone up considerably in my estimations, with his thoughts and experiences about SSRIs.

It's a good video. Even if you cannot stand RB

Thumbnail won't display, so just having to post the link

@Shambles a number of things could have evoked the wtf reaction, but I'm not sure which one did.

I did not mean to suggest that I approve of RFK more, now I know he was shooting heroin for 14 years, it was more about his thoughts on SSRIs that I actually agree with.

Although him having been in such a position with drug use, should make him more empathetic to others in similar situations, during his role as health secretary.

Whether that will actually play out remains to be seen.

Or the reaction could have just been me posting anything by Russell Brand, seeing is he is mostly seen as a persona non grata right now.

He is a .....

comedian. ;);)

RB.
He literally was a stand up comedian for some time.

He seems to have done a bit of everything when it comes to performing.

I have no comment regarding all the allegations. The court and jury will decide the verdict.

Tbh, just think RFK is an utter crank who has personally overseen taking the US from one of the leading medical research countries on the planet to… somewhere beneath third world status.

This is the first one of this guys videos that I've been able to watch right through.

I think he does have some good stuff to say, but for me it seems there's often far too many words, or sheer waffle, before he actually makes any points. I'm not sure if this is a me problem, or if it's him.

Tbh, I think that the first 8 minutes or so of even this video suffers from the same thing, it takes him that long to keep saying the same thing, or to get to the stage where he actually starts saying things, that are actual points.

However, from about 8 minutes in, up to the end, it's rammed with great points, about why giving up addictions can be so difficult, psychologically speaking.

Essentially, because drugs can become so ingrained in your life and everything you do, and they can elevate everything to such an extent that everything is grey afterwards; after drugs, or alcohol, or whatever.

But then if you quit, that greyness becomes the new normal, and in time, if you persist, the brain adjusts and mood along with it.

I don't think he came to that conclusion, but that's the conclusion I came to once I'd finished listening. I think he wanted to leave the subject on a bleaker note, as in everything will be grey permanently, hence people still attending AA 35 years after quitting and still calling themselves addicts. I don't know, maybe I'm relatively lucky, as whenever I have overcome a few different addictions, in time the greyness lifts, and you adapt to the new normal.

Thanks gonna be experimentent with it when. As a Calcium source not gonna hit a supply store for swimming pools. Lots of Calcium next to sand on the shore as Sea-shells: Calcium-Carbonate.

Pretty cool find, and doesnt seem to need energy for the reaction. Permanent sand castles come to mind. Castles made of sand that can withstand and last eternity. 🤙
