Any realistic alternatives to using weed at night?

WEF = world economic forum

Politicians + very rich people have televised meetings and talk about how they want things to go they "think" things will go in future. Their "predictions" apply particularly to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, US and UK aka "Five Eyes".

WEF = rich dictators having trivial discussions involving the UN & WHO.

kava is a decent herbal anxiolytic that won’t pop on a piss test. i put some in my nightly cup of sleepytime chamomile, passionflower, and valerian root tea and it’s real relaxing before bed. the kava gives a bit of a tipsy feeling. nothing too crazy. i know you said you tried blue lotus, i’ve definitely enjoyed that with my tea and was very relaxed. it’s definitely not super strong tho.

if you’re looking to get high before bed, there’s not really any “reasonable” substitutes that you can safely take on a nightly basis. at least not without some risk of dependence or tolerance. if you’re looking to relax, all those weak herbs tend to be a lot stronger together. blue lotus, damiana, kava, valerian root, passionflower. don’t do much on their own but when combined have much more effect.

outside of RC cannabinoids of questionable safety there’s not really any weed adjacent substances that are safe to use regularly, readily available, and won’t pop a piss test.

however if you do find such a unicorn, i’d love to know

If you look at my 1st post many of the items are applicable, including for chronic use sans dependency/tolerance. I call these sustainable therapeutic mixes since you rely on the synergy of 2+ substances to ensure sustainability. Also THC isn't necessary for the classic high effect imo.

See the items mentioned in my 1st post. To elaborate on terpenes, each has it's unique psychoactive profile. Plant terpenes are very common & inexpensive. They are active standalone, cannabinoids aren't necessary. In fact a few of these terpenes have cannabinoid qualities (and dopaminergic, GABAergic, serotonergic, opioidergic...).

I half scoff at terpenes as sales technique but am actually pretty interested.

I would love some like potency information and more definitive effects --- ^actually those are about as definitive as I have ever seen so that is progress...

Thanks. I've given kava a few tries and have found a decent strain of instant kava, which is from Vanuatu. The biggest problem I find with kava is having to wait for 3 hours or so after eating. I go to bed early, around 9.30 pm, so that gives me a very limited time to be able to use and then enjoy kava.

I guess I am looking for a high at night rather than simple relaxation.

I would suggest CBD, CBN, or maybe delta 8 THC if it doesn’t test positive, though I’ve never found weed to help much with sleep. Valerian root and l-tetrahydropalmatine are more helpful. Suicide is not a good sleep aid.

unfortunately d8 does pop on a piss test. all the smoke shop cannabinoid variants (D8, D10, THC-A, THC-P, HHC, EThC, EThC) will all pop on a piss test. some of which because of false positives due to similar metabolites. i may be wrong about some of them, but i know D8 and D10 will for sure

The botanical terpenes can help here, particularly GABAergic, dopaminergic, opioidergic, cannabinoid and serotonergic ones.

Limonene (serotonergic) alongside myrcene & ß-caryophyllene (stoning) is a good starting point.

Thank you for all of your suggestions. I will now try each one, and see if one of them comes close to weed at night. I have also come up with an alcohol substitute, which could I think substitute for weed as well. It consists of 2 beers, 1.2 mg of scopolamine, and 150 mg of pregabalin. It can't be used every night, as you get a tolerance for the scopolamine as well as maybe the pregabalin, so I'm using it every third night.

I know 150mg of pregab isn't that much, but I suspect with that frequency you will build up tolerance to it over time and will either need to increase dose or better take regular tolerance breaks - not sure how often but maybe something like 3 weeks on and 1 week off.

if you're not already keep a log and track signs of tolerance building

I started with 300mg once a week and over a year built up tolerance and started needing 600mg, then after 2 tolerance breaks of 1 month each I'm almost (if not completely) back to baseline - in the future I'm going to reduce my usage to once per month ideally, but might try once per week for 3 weeks, then a week off, and keep repeating this to see how well it works.

I have been smoking weed for years as a way of keeping off alcohol at night and it has worked, but now I have been diagnosed with ADHD and the psychiatrist provider I have been referred to insists on their clients not using pot while being prescribed stimulants. They advise you to get off weed for 4 weeks before the appointment, as they urine-test you to make sure you're not using it. I'd like to know if there are any realistic alternatives to cannabis at night? I don't smoke a lot, so don't need something ultra-strong, just something psychoactive in a relaxing way - but not alcohol. I can't use benzos or z-drugs as I had tolerance and withdrawal problems with those when I was using them every night for sleep, and GHB is hard to obtain where I live. Are there ANY herbs that are strong enough to resemble weed? I once tried damiana but found it so weak that it had no effect on me, even when I used large amounts of a strong extract. I tried blue lotus flower but also found it weak. I have heard of wild dagga and klip dagga being used as smoking alternatives but I have already spent too much on herbs to keep trying different ones. Maybe there is a herbal combination that could work? It's ok if it's in the form of an alcoholic extract, as the amount of alcohol consumed would be small, and small amounts don't trigger me to drink large amounts. Any thoughts?
Benadryl, magnesium and melatonin over the counter will help.

A benzo or sedative from a doctor will work the best.

I also have found some sleep pleasure with the essential oil stickers. I place one on my wrist every night and they wind me down in about 20 or 30 minutes. No BS!

Good Luck and message me if you want more herbal ways to a better night's rest!
