I've never tripped, although I live in florida where shrooms are a plenty. I just found these in my backyard, two bundles... probable like 50 total... anyway I wasnt sure if they were the kind you can "trip on"... pics:

Note: The look like these a bit from this link that are confirmed shrooms.. but im not sure...

Hmm, I don't know, but they look possibly like some type of gymnopilus, junonius maybe, you could try to ID them from that. Or ask at the shroomery is probably better.

^Seriously.

Don't trust random people over the internet with your life. If someone trustworthy can't identify them in person I'd just not take them. Even if people online say they're good, remember that you don't know any of us online and have no idea whether or not we're trustworthy.

The guys on Shroomery are very smart and good at IDing shrooms, but I'd still never take random mushrooms based solely on the words of strangers on the internet.

x2 on this.

Please, please, OP, don't eat those without being absolutely sure of their identity. So many strains of 'shrooms look so similar, and so many are harmful or fatal in even tiny doses.

Eh. I don't know if it's that bad, how many people do you think have eaten edible shrooms from descriptions in books? I know I have, and checking for common/poisonous lookalikes, and ruling them out, should make the risk pretty small. Of course there's still some risk, and you should be 100% sure of your identification.

I agree that you shouldn't eat something just because someone says they're ok, you should find out for yourself what features are expected from the mushroom you suspect you have, and verify that they are all present, and that some distinguishing feature of some look-alike isn't present. And, if in doubt, chuck it out :)

I just always feel it is best to err on the side of extreme caution, especially when someone posts a bunch of pics of a shroom that looks 'something' like one they saw on the internet, states they have no experience, and asks whether they should down them ;)

They don't look like Psilocybes and we don't allow ID threads either. So we leave you with a NO thus you should not eat them. For a better determination of what it actually is you've got there go over to the Shroomery.

Really these don't look like Azurescens or Cyanescens, which are much wetter or more slimy at the top. Also Azures or Cyanescens are rarely if ever shaped differently than round as far as caps go, and what you see in your picture is tesselation or 'spots' like a tiger print in the middle of the cap. A good number of reasons to assume that they are not what you are looking for, question is how dangerous these are. But finding out could never be worth it especially since you almost certainly won't trip.

I dislike IDing and admit I don't know enough and wouldn't ID my own picked ones out of the wild and eat them barring special circumstances but negative advice seems like good HR here. In other words this is a warning to leave them.

They only VAGUELY resemble those depicted on the Shroomery but vaguely at best. The fact that you think they look alike is a sign that you should not try to ID them. There are countless other mushrooms that have resembling appearance and some of them are indeed dangerous.
