Thanks you! I've never been a big picture taker due to my lack of confidence in them, maybe I'll try to take more now. Guess I don't look as bad as I think.

A powerful image that always speaks to me.... It's so in the moment, and it uncovers the harsh realities of war. There will always be casualties, no matter the need for war. It will always exist, but I like how this picture opens up a third eye to the idea of war. It's the part we don't see.
 
It remember seeing that for the first time too and the impact it had and still does. It's so poignant alright badfish; it holds a kind of tragic beauty and is drenched in pathos. <3

if anyone cares to do the reading; the events & military operations in Vietnam surrounding that photo are just as brutal, and just as horribly effective as they appear. And it was the South Vietnamese slaying the North just as often & far more ruthlessly than we did. There were already a couple hundred years of bad blood between those people, before the Cold War ever got there.

history holds far more images than the ones most visible, and are more often painted in words than with photographs. it just takes a bit of objectivity to see them clearly through the haze of time, medium, & emotion.
