whats worse depression or opiate addiction?

They can both ruin your life, I wld take the addiction by far,
Depression is life long no matter wat, it may get better bt will never

I don't believe this. I was diagnosed with depression in '93, took prescribed Paxil until 2009 and i do not consider myself depressed at all.
Now, when I was in rehab they called it the 'chicken or the egg' conundrum. Basically, was it the drugs that caused the depression or the depression that led to the drugs.

regardless, depression is not life long and is VERY treatable

opiate addiction is worse. it will lead to almost daily desperation and financial trouble. and i've been depressed most of my life. my financial situation, combined with the need for opiates, has taken me past the depression and into anger at being alive my life is a nightmare. today i only had a sickly sweet dose of 30mg oc, and by the end of work i was throwing up in my car and making the kinds of noises a dog makes when it's being beaten.
