Work absolutely flew in today. That might have something to do with taking a wee bit too much tramadol though lol. That's me off till Wednesday, on ye fucking go %)

Gonna chill like a fridge until Saturday then going for an all day shot at the courtyard in Glasgow. £4 for all the techno you can handle from about 4/5pm till half 12 then prolly on to Subby or just back to a flat for a party. Happy days.

Time for a smoke =D

I'm planning on going to a couple of people's B.Day bash on Saturday at this local place that's the best place in town, with the loveliest owners, that does a great deal of youth work for the community and hold wicked reggae and dub nights with the Bushrocker Hi-Fi krew :)
It's gunna be a Funky House do which I always love when it's good Funky House #~^_^~#

So yea I'm well looking fwd to that :) Don't even know the two peeps whose B.Day it is but I got an invite purely because I've been involved with nights there in the past - Score! :D
 
I finish work for the week at 6pm tomorrow, hence why it can't come soon enough. Unfortunately it'll soon be Monday again and my torment will start all over. My work went in slow as fuck today, was soul destroying. Might need to start boshing tramadol before I go in if it helps. I have nothing planned for this weekend, saving my cash for the fringe next weekend.

My weekend seems already sorted. Looking like a quiet one on the cards tomorrow, save myself for Sat. Mates are dj'ing daytime at a hotel in a scenic place so probably go along to that for a few pints, then it's up town to catch a few other boys for a pint or two before we go off to my mates Polish girlfriends party and hit the sesh bigstyle. Can't fucking wait for Sat now!

Tomorrow my mate has phoned me telling me a posh local restaurant needs a bar man so going to head and apply for that and see about funding for while I'm in college doing my HNC.
 
I bought it, really is a huge discount. Hope i get round to doing it and it's not to much hassel. Theres no code or anything there, not on the ol spam btw!
 
Hmm, probably should of researched before committing. I don't know tho, if its a scam its a bloody good one - 5100 sold. Someone on another forum i use (not tefl related at all) said they knew someone who bought it and is teaching English in Germany on the back of it.

Im of to OZ in 6 weeks anyway, reckon it won't look to bad in my fictional CV. They say most of the material is in PDF's, so if your intrested send me a PM in a while and i'll forward them for u to look at.

Besides what do you expect for £65 like, if it gets u in the door - or even an interview the ball's ur's to drop.
 
yeah, it seemed like a safe bet if you already have the confidence and experience to teach, but not for someone who doesn't really know what they are doing, you can't really learn skills like that online. Although it would look good on paper and get you in the door, once you are in the door if you don't actually have the skills you will find it very hard to do the job.
 
I agree, but to do a course that gives you actual classroom experience will run you a couple of grand - and besides it could never really prepare you for teaching in another culture where you don't speak the lingo and are way out of your comfort zone anyway.

Tbh i'm not sure i'd ever use it, I had a win on the horses seen this and it was an impulse buy. I think its good tho, will look decent in a CV along with a photoshopped picture of me surrounded by a load of similing Japanese dudes.

Volunteer work with the Cambodia Bunong Hill Tribe. Sounds amazing. I want to go for 3 months, the cost to volunteer before flights is £1155, Flights are about £700, add another £1000 on for the 3 months living expenses at max, not sure how much a visa and insurance is, but that could be done for under £3000.

Would love to go live and help out with a remote tribe, is a shame that they expect the tribal way of life to be gone within a generation though :(

I think that this has to be in my thoughts for travelling before South America to be honest as there might not be another chance to do something like this in a few years time.
 
Id say that would be a good experience. Ive been to Thailand and Laos a couple of times and the North is class. Never made it to Cambodia though. Not to sure how i'd feel about paying to volunteer though. Great if you've got the cash, but I couldn't afford it. I think teaching would be a great gig, really is 'the land of smiles' (and benzo's and lady boy's and corrupt cop's - but thats another story).

I want to sell solar paneling in Melbourne, the cash is great. I was doing a Msc in sustainable technologies but had to drop out (got high and blew £3k of fees at cards- rough night) Still have all the course materials and a letter from my tutor. Im just in the process of patching together as many lies as plausible in order to get my foot in the door. After that want to head to South America.

Futures so bright need shades! :)
 
the payment for the volunteering is basically to fund your accomodation, the teaching you to do things to help and other stuff out there, you cant just turn up and expect to get a free ride. I am considering maybe after christmas trying to convince my boss to let me go to cambodia and do it for 4 or 5 weeks using my annual leave, then come back and save up again for my big south and north america trip where I wouldn't actually come back. Or I could go away and do 4 or 5 weeks things like this every year. I think I need to take a longer break though, over 6 months away.


Going to Cambodia and living with a semi-nomadic hill tribe and helping them out for a month or so sounds ideal though, especially if it means I could keep my job and then come back to save up for a bigger trip in the future :)

I'm getting all excited now and I have only just started thinking about it, lol, classic Mugz
 
I dunno, can be hectic enough out there with out getting blocked with a semi-nomadic hill tribes, I dunno if they'd 'get' me tbh could imagine they'd think i was taking the piss outta them when i was just asking for a light.

Just had a big joint an im looking at this TEFL course.... looks a bit hectic.

Say it qualifies you to do online english teaching to some header - 10e for 20mins, be handy enough if you were in the mood for it Isuppose.

I must have nodded out and I just "woke up" with no idea what I was watching before passing out (there was some channel on on my comp but didn't check what it was - Just turned it off as it was a shopping channel at the time :?).

tramadol and work go hand in hand imo,gives a definite positive push and makes work seem interesting..........almost.
 
:\ having no phone battery sucks, my computer isn't reliable enough as an alarm and I ended up sleeping in again today. I have emailed in sick for work, blaming it on food poisoning, saying that I would be there as it is not an anxiety sick day this time but I have been puking most of the morning so far. Thought it would have been a bit too much to have two days in one week where I am really late because of my alarm not going off. I would have been in more trouble for that than for being off sick today, I have had the "you need to take responsibility of your job, and you organisation" and all that crap, so I think being super late because I don't have an alarm clock would have pissed them off a lot.

Still crap missing a day of work though and it further damaging my reputation and my chances of keeping my job there long term. This is going to be the last day that I miss for 6 months I have decided. I am going to make that a target, get to work every day I am meant to be there for the next 6 months and build back my reputation and save as much money as possible.
