I banged H for about 2 yrs but never tried injecting anything else. i tried hydromorphone today and i feel i didnt get all that i should have, like maybe its all still in the cotton ball or something ( i know thats highly unlikley) but i did 40 mgs and just felt all right. i have an insane tolerance for opiates/opiods so is that it or did i do something wrong? well dont snort them you only get 50% of the buzz unless you take it oral first then it will last a little longer. but i would reccomend the good ol intravenous method

I currently take Dilaudid orally and would like a more efficient manner to take it so I receive better pain relief. If you could assist me with answering a couple questions as to your strategy. I would be using a new needle every time. However i dont understand about the cotton ball part. You shred a couple pieces and put the cotton ball into the needle? If so they fit with the needle being so tiny. Also what exactly is a micron filter and are they readily available? Are the Dilaudid simply soluble in water just stick a couple in some water and then? Id appreciate anything you could offer for insight, Cheers mate
Here is the pill filtering method I have posted over which is great where microns are not practical for users who will inject pills without them anyway and this is the next best thing.
This filtering technique is free, quick, easy and is for the 99% of people who are going to shoot pills without a micron (in this case hydromorphone). It really works at least 50 times better than just sucking up through a cotton ball.
Start by getting the supplies you need: a new syringe, preferably 1ml or 3ml, a cotton ball or other cotton source, a paperclip, and a mixing cap. Wash your hands thoroughly and get started. First uou can remove the needle but that is optional/preference. Most people will have 1ml and 1/2ml syringes lying around, go for the bigger ones, I have found 3ml to be the ideal size for extremely efficient filtering but 1/2cc works well too if that's the largest you have. Now take the cotton ball and cut some strips that can be doubled up and inserted into the barrel of the syringe with a paper clip, you can use any cotton, using one or two pieces form a cotton ball is just a little easier than 15 from q-tips. Pack the cotton down firmly with the plunger to the 30-40 unit line on a 1cc or 1/2cc syringe or .5ml on a 3ml.
Here is a little side step for pre-filtering pills with a lot of gunk and it is also good for very effectively quick filtering pills that don't need much of any filtering (suboxone) or just street drugs. Sterilize an old syringe and remove the needle. Mix up the solution and drop a cotton ball in, press the needless syringe straight down on it creating a firm seal and draw back. It should be pretty well filtered, many times just this is enough.
Anyway whether you prefilter or not, for the best possible filtration with spare supplies you already have just back load the solution to be filtered into the barrel full of cotton, insert the plunger and push through. The result is extremely translucent and well filtered and the best of any home method I have seen, it doesn't compare to anything except for a micron. nothing really gets stuck in the cotton in the barrel either, just remove the plunger and push it down again and the air will force everything remaining out. i generally filter it directly into the barrel of the syringe I'll be shooting with. You can try filtering multiple times with multiple filters like this if you're really paranoid but I have found one done right is great.

Sorry to bump such an old post, but I believe the 10mg/mL vials are the Dilaudid HP, while the 20 may be HP as well. I'd have to dig out my CPS to be sure. Everything else looks correct.
Since these only have three ingredients: hydromorphone HCl, lactose anhydrose and magnesium stearate--it makes these a lot safer to IV. I use a bit of heat on mine to dissolve all of the lactose as well, but there is a catch. Magnesium stearate melts and becomes soluble at 88 degrees celcius. That being said, you have to let the solution cool since the water was near 100 degrees C; when you let it cool, you will see the mag. stearate form a slight clear film on the top of the solution. If you push this aside you are left with a perfectly clear solution of hydromorph and lactose. Filter well, and enjoy. Double filtering never hurts, just to make sure none of the stearate makes it through, which it shouldn't. This is what makes the 8mg Dilaudids so desireable.
I know the mods will blast me for talking about heat, but if you let it cool, all of the insoluble will be floating on the top and can be dealt with. With the 4s the only difference is the Yellow Lake colorant.
Captain, I have a question for you. Was this after you were clean from heroin, or before you started using? I just noticed this, and maybe it's just a sensitivity to opiates, but I was astounded that you got such a great effect from such a low dose(1mg). Which is awesome! I wish my body chemistry allowed that. Seeing as that is really equal to approximately 7-10mg of morphine SO4 which equates to maybe 2.5 or 3mg of heroin HCl. So I guess my question is, being the experienced poly-user that you are, were you able to maintain a small heroin habit--as in half a bag or less? I ask because 3mg is really a threshold dose for many people. Also, the duration of the hydromorph is amazing. Good stuff man! Many people would like to be in your shoes.
Forgive my ignorance i will sound like a complete noob to you but im trying to learn. You are talking about either the 4 mg or 8 mg dilaudid correct? If so you heat them like on a spoon with a lighter or torch until they breakdown? My 4mg are a white small pill. Im trying to learn how to make the pills go from pill form to injectable solution but my knowledge in this area is very poor.

I just bought injecting supplies from GPZservices.com that will last me several months (6 micron filters, 4 sterile vials, 25 5cc leur-lock syringes, and 200 insulin syringes) all for around $50. That means each shot I prep will average to $0.25 and that is a hell of a price to not be putting anything dangerous into my veins.
secondly, please do not heat your pills. lactose is not "safe" to inject by any means, and many pills have different ratios/ types of fillers. Hydromorphone is extremely soluble in cold water, so there is literally no reason to heat your pills unless you are just trying to cause more damage to yourself.

Question about preparing Dilaudid tab for IV...
And I apologize if this is a dumb question but in my searching of the forum, I did not see an answer to this.
If someone is preparing a Dilaudid tab (say, two 2mg tabs...so 4mg total) for IV injection....what is better to mix it with - 0.9% Normal Saline or Sterile Water? If the person has both, which is preferable? Since normal saline is what is commonly used for IV fluid in medical settings, is it better to mix with this? Or is sterile water better? And also, if this person is prepping two 2mg tabs, how many units of water should be used to mix with the crushed pills?

well 4mg of hydromorphone would easily fit in 100 or even 50 units of water. As long as both are sterile, you should be good either way on the water v saline thing.

I just wanted to come back and post my personal experience as a new IV Dilaudid user since the "personal experience" posts are the ones that I found most helpful during my research and I thought my post might be helpful to other readers who may be new to this as well.
I am pretty experienced with opiates in general but only swallowing them recreationally. Never IV'd anything until just recently when I happen to get my hands on a few 2mg/ml vials of hydromorphone meant for either SQ or IV injection. At first I was too scared to IV, so I just SQ'd them and while it did give me a nice, yet short in duration, calm and chill feeling...it wasn't much. So I got brave and decided to try IV. I am a nurse by profession, so what I know about IV injections in general made me feel comfortable enough with myself to try it, especially since I had a vial that was specifically made for injection, so no danger in that. So the first time I injected 2mg hydromorphone...it was great! Definitely the best route for the rush and euphoria, although the duration is pretty short-lived.
Anyway, having access to the vials was a one-time thing and now the only thing I have access to is the 2mg tabs of generic hydromorphone, from the manufacturer "Lannett". Did quite a bit of reading on the topic of prepping pills for IV and all that because, as a nurse, I won't do anything without researching the safest way to do it! (Thank you, Bluelight!!)
So here's what I did.....
I started out with a pretty conservative dosage. I have a decent opiate tolerance already so I decided to use two of the 2mg tabs....so 4mg total of hydromorphone. I cleaned and sterilized all my equipment, of course. And in all of this I am working with sterile, unopened syringes, sterile water, etc.
I crushed up the two tablets until I had a fine white powder. I dumped the powder into a large tablespoon. Then, using a 1cc insulin syringe, I drew up 90 units of sterile water and squirted it back into the spoon, on top of the powder. I removed the plunger from the syringe and used the end of the plunger to stir the powder/water until it was as dissolved as I thought it was going to get...about 2-3 minutes. After this I had a creamy mix in the spoon. I pulled off the cotton from 2 q-tips and rolled into a ball. I put the ball of cotton into the spoon and it immediately started absorbing the solution. I opened a new, sterile insulin syringe and inserted the needle into the cotton ball and started pulling back the plunger. The solution coming up in the syringe was completely clear and there were no particles at all left. I was able to get 80 units of solution back (started out with 90 units of water...so that's pretty good, right?). After that, I just tied the tourniquet, found a vein and shot it in! And it felt just like the experience I had before with the hydromorphone vial....very nice rush with a calm, warm & fuzzy euphoric feeling afterwards.
So, I am thinking that my first time trying this was a success and my best advice to any newbie is to just do your research before you IV anything and make sure you are doing it the RIGHT and safest way possible. I may try 6mg next time, I don't know. 4mg of the pill-to-solution mix felt pretty much the same to me as the straight-from-the-vial 2mg IV solution. Maybe I lost some of the potency in the process?? I don't know.
But anyway...that's my experience and I hope it helps someone! Any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Oh yeah...and I did NOT heat anything.

i've finally overcome my lurking laziness and decided to post. so... hi all
this thread (plus the plugging mega-thread) have provided a wealth of info to me over the past few months. thanks to everyone who's posted!
the dill on me and my dillies:
i first experienced dilaudid (IV) when i had my gallbladder removed in 2009. happy happy warm fuzzies and good times... and then i started hallucinating. yes folks, it does happen. half of me was content in my hospital bed watching tv, not giving a care in the world. the other half of me had blue sky and clouds floating around the room.
i have tried a lot of drugs and enjoyed them all but preferred none (except maybe LSD). dilaudid became my instant DoC. for better or worse, this drug was unavailable to me for years. so imagine my surprise when i get my tonsils removed at 27 (what. a. bitch.) and i get prescribed dilaudid! i was like a 5 year old on christmas. too bad i also had the dilly knowledge of a 5 yr old. so i ended up wasting about a 1/3 of my pills orally for pain relief. womp womp. immediately switched back to taking the hydrocodone 7.5/500's i have for my back issues. but i decided to make the most of it anyway and have the doc give me a 2nd Rx since the first one wasn't strong enough. i got 40 4mg generics. and then i found bluelight. and plugging...
I LOVE PLUGGING DILAUDID. i see no need for IV'ing when plugging gives me a high that washes over me in gentle waves, flows like warm water from head to toe, gives me a decent nod, and lasts for hours. but then again, im a girl who thoroughly enjoys anal sex
all that being said, i'm down to my last 20 4mg pills
and with no more coming in the forseeable future, need to make them last. i try to limit my plugs to once a week or more - and as a result, only need about 6-8mgs for a substantial high. however, my 7.5/500 hydrocodones are a continuing Rx.
anyone have any suggestions to help me ration my dilly stash? anything further i can do to increase the high but use less? thoughts on plugging the hydros? possible combinations of the two pills? or combinations with something else? i don't want this little love affair to end!

Hi your Post is very helpful if you could assist me with a couple answers. If someone has a high tolerance to opiouds and dilaudid how many pills should they dissolve normally even to first try what is the equivalent of dilaudid in pill form to iv form in terms of strength? Could someone simply filter it im water and drink it? Also how much water/ bacteriostatic water does one use when doing micron filtering? Thank you for any help cheers

Dilaudid has an oral to IV ratio of 3:1. So use 30% of your normal dose to achieve same analgesia. I shoot dilaudid regularly. I usually dissolve 8mg/mL, and since I prep 5mL at a time, I use 5x 8mg tablets in 5mL of water ( Hydromorphone has great solubility)
You can filter it in water and drink it, but it will still have 30% BA.
As long as you track your math and don't fuck it up, it's pretty easy to do this. Let me know if you have further questions.

Awesome man thanks for the tips so many of you guys on here hAve been a wealth of information. Do you use micron filters as well? So when you prep your 5ml with the 40mg how many ccs do you use when injecting? You keep the 5ml in a presealed vial? Im working in getting all the stuff in order to get the products so you simly use water mot bacteriostatic water?
Muvolution Id like to give a for instance if i had an insulin syringe and dilaudid since thats all i have right now could i put some pills in water extract and nject? I dont know if dilaudid has alot of those fillers other pills have that filtering takes care of. Thanks in advance
