Faster ingestion?

My wife suffers from Occipital Neurolgia. It gives her horrible, daily headaches. I make her Canna-butter chips which help if taken right at the onset of a head ache. They are easy to store in the freezer and easy to swallow. The improvement I am seeking help with is ingestion. Is there a nasal application or something that could speed up the 1.5 hours of ingestion? We feel if the reaction time was quicker she would get more "kills". Right now we kill or at least severely diminish about 50% of them with the butter. She hates smoking so we are trying to find other methods. BTW, no prescribed medication ever performed this well.

We have been considering that. We have been given conflicting thoughts. One being that spending anything less than $500 gets a bad one. It also wouldn't be "public portable". We live in a card carrying legal state and she is legal but we are still staying on the down low.

Why not a good small one like an iolite portable?

They have great customer service it sounds like so if you didn't like it you could easily return it...
BTW, when I heard the problems with the plastic pipe-stem had been addressed, I e-mailed the company about the problems I'd had. They quickly mailed me two of the new ones: no charge. That shows a lot of class and consumer awareness. Kudos.
review of the iolite portable.

Yeah vaporising would be the best method if your wife is ok with the idea. It's kinda pricey, but if you think about the long term benifits I think it's worth it.

I also know you will feel the effects of edibles faster if you eat them on an empty stomach. It will still take quite a while tho.

get some cigarellos or papers man smoke that shit and eat a brownie or whatev then by time you start to come down from the smoke and headache returns the brrownie will get her high again

plenty of fantastic vapes at the 200 USD price point. The only possible vape I could think of that you would want for 500+ would be a volcano, and that much only if you want to be using the premium ballon attachment, which i highly doubt you need if you are just medicating. As stated there are great one's a great prices, you can check out vaporizer discussion threads for information on vapes (besides specific prices and vendor links).

Thanks for all the feed back. She will probably try the vaporizer. Is it worth my time to test run on a home made one or is there a huge difference?

Home made? As in light bulb? If you even start making those I'll slap you. They only heat up the bud right above the flame, and usually burn it. There's a huge, huge difference. Real vaporizers get a constant heat throughout the chamber where you put the bud in.

Light bulbs and tin foil are for heroin and research chemical cannabinoids.

Try reading the first post next time.

Notice where it says

She hates smoking so we are trying to find other methods. .

She hates smoking

hates smoking

Hopefully that cleared it up.

Vaporisers are [edit - language - let's not get homophobic - chainer] , smoke it...
ANd yea the light bulb ones suck and are probably bad for you...treid it once and they dont do shit but pretty much burn your shit up anyway, there is still smoke+ it looks like a meth pipe

dont post something when you dont know what your talking about... its not good to give misinformation.

OP, i think a vaporizer is a good alternative. other than that i cant think of other ways without smoking. and yeah you can definetly find plenty around $200-$300. not saying thats not exspensive but its a worthy investment if cannabis is helping your wife

Try and approximate the Sativex medication which is sprayed under the tongue. It's an alcohol extract of cannabis.

It's not nasal, but better than oral possibly in that situation. That's the route I would recommend, especially if vaporizing is inconvenient or she's no into it for whatever reason.

I have made a tincture with alcohol which she dropped onto the tongue. Mine still took 1 1/2 hours to ingest which makes me think it went into her digestive track after all. Any one know about glycerin? Would it be more absorbable under the tongue?

On the tongue? No, it's meant to go under the tongue! That's probably why it didn't work.

I suggest you try it sublingually because Sativex has been an established, effective medicine proven to work in this MOA.

If you boil the weed in milk / soymilk for 10+ minutes, she can drink it, and it will be quicker to digest than with food.
But a vaporizer is a much, much better alternative, I would guess.

^ this.
my favourite grass recipe - it tastes great, comes on fast (half hour, tops) and is very efficient.

If you're looking for an excellent vaporizer get a magic flight launch box, it's portable and runs on both rechargeable batteries and there's a wall adapter as well and it costs less than the iolite does.

As for recipes have you tried making medium/strong firecrackers or brownies?

Making tinctures works, a friend of mine who has a med card in CA uses them.
