Excretion of Adderall and sublingual administration questions

I took Adderall for the first time the other day and ended up taking 60mg to really be satisfied with its effects, as I normally tend to do with stimulants, eek.

I was left with one more 20mg XR capsule which I crushed up a couple hours ago and parachuted about 40 minutes ago on an empty stomach 1 hour after drinking backing soda & water. I'm definitely feeling it now with similar effects as I had the other day after my last dose.

Anyway...

One question... I read that Adderall is excreted through urine and also know it is crucial to stay hydrated and eat well. So if I drink a bunch of water, causing me to urinate frequently, that should diminish the effects a bit, should it not?

Also, I've read mixed reviews on sublingual Adderall. Some say it isn't noticeably different from oral, and others say they notice stronger effects from sublingual administration. Anyone care to input on this? Does/should it have higher bioavailability?

Thanks

I believe sublingual administration would help the effects kick in faster, but it should be the same as taking orally with regard to the rec. effects, as it's still basically oral administration.

It's always good to stay hydrated even if it does diminish the effects a bit, though I don't believe you would feel it any less, I do think, however, that it would wear off SLIGHTLY quicker than when not urinating frequently. Also if you are dehydrated (and as far as I know the Adderall causes a bit of dehydration due to the stress on the body), you would not necessarily be urinating more, just absorbing more water. In theory it may help the effects though I doubt that.

Please know that these are answers I believe to be more or less accurate but I do not know any of this to be fact. Hopefully someone with more experience can answer.

Whether or not they are factual, they make complete sense. Very good point on the body just absorbing the water, I overlooked that idea haha. Thanks for the input.

Sorry Jager336 but sublingual administration is not basically the same as oral, when you take something orally it goes through your stomach and is absorbed there, sublingual administration is when the drug enters your body through the blood vessels under your tongue. So it gets into the blood stream faster and should have and will have different effects than oral admin.

I don't have any experience with adderall so can't really comment on the OPs question but I just wanted to point this out as it is misinformation.

^^Much appreciated, hence the disclaimer of fact vs. thought. :)

I have no experience with sublingual Adderall, I had to swallow them as they were the generic brand that was SWEET (as in glucose/sugar) and sniffing three was the last time I'll EVER do that with that particular brand. I should have taken them sublingually.

Side note with regard to water retention vs. urine output: I can take four or five brand-name, very good quality diuretics, and I don't piss one bit. Note that I do not drink water frequently, the filters here suck though I do have a Pur pitcher that works pretty well. I tend to drink Gatorade as often as I can to make up for some of it.

Ya that's what I thought, Mugz. I haven't much experience with sublingual other than diazepam and clonazepam, which have high oral bioavailability anyway so didn't notice much of a difference. So I'll give that a shot next time with Adderall.

Snorting is obviously going to make the effects come on better, because of greater bioavailability.

I don't recommend sub lingual. Typically I find that oral will give you the greatest effects with adderall and most amphetamines.

The answer to your question about drinking water is, yes, believe it or not. A lot of water will cause the salts to flush out of your system at a slightly faster pace than if you're moderately drinking water.

Hydration is a very long process that continues long after the drugs are out of your system. It's most important to be hydrated long before taking the amphetamines.

Should you take adderall and not drink water? No. But you can certainly go overboard. I find that wetting my mouth every so often to rid cotton-mouth is really all that's needed.

If you happen to mix alcohol with adderall anytime in the future, it would be in your best interest to drink plenty of water. With my experience, alcohol will help prolong adderall's body high.

60mg is a big dose for your first adderall experience. Take less, less often. You'll thank me when you don't have to start taking 120mg to get the same effect.

LISTEN to this, you won't regret it, trust me, I'm not a liar, even when I'm wrong I think I'm right.

I also have to take 120mg to get anything worthwhile, and that's not good, especially if you don't have high mg Adderall and quite a bit of them.

Oh ya don't worry I totally know it was big and wont again. 20mg would have sufficed but just wasn't hitting well due to who knows what. The doses were spaced out by a couple hours but ya, still high amount.

i found sublingual to kick in faster but felt the same as taking them orally. also like mugz was saying about how they differ, that also means having a full stomach wont effect the adderall when taken sublingually.
