Nirvana's Nevermind turns 20 on September 24, and the band's label, Universal, is planning to celebrate the milestone anniversary of the landmark release with a bonus-packed reissue. The set will be a 4-CD/1-DVD package, featuring rarities, B-sides, and unreleased recordings. Also included are unspecified BBC radio appearances and an unreleased concert in its entirety on DVD. It hits stores on September 19.

Well, that has nothing to do with the point of the thread. Want to try again?

Suppose I'm interested in hearing some unreleased stuff. I can't imagine it being much better than the stuff that was included in the box set several years ago.

I've been a huge Nirvana fan ever since I was eight or nine, when my primary school teacher made me a copy of this album on cassette. It's hard to believe that was 20 years ago. So I'll be buying this no matter what.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say the live DVD will be from their Amsterdam performance in '91, and they'll include the John Peel sessions (which are awesome if nobody's heard them before). Hopefully it'll be a better effort than the Bleach reissue.

Also, I hope they do a reissue of Incesticide next year as that's a personal favourite of mine.

Thank you god.....I have been wanting this for SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long. My 3rd favorite album of all time. The quality better blow up my surround sound through the ps3 man. Thanks for this heads up.

A lil' bit more info on this. :)

Details on Nirvana’s upcoming Nevermind reissue are now available via their Facebook page. Pictured above is the limited Super Deluxe Edition, which comes with the remastered album, B-sides, demos, unreleased live BBC recordings, the Devonshire Mixes (the album as mixed by Butch Vig as opposed to Andy Wallace’s final mix) and a DVD of their 1991 Paramount show and all four Nevermind music videos.

Damn, I really need to get my hands on this. Been a huge fan of Nirvana since middle school, and Nevermind is such a brilliant album. But Mysterier has a point - I can't imagine anything any of this could beat the stuff on the box set.

^I have the BBC recordings (if they're indeed the John Peel ones and not something else), and imo those versions of the songs are better than the album versions. I've been a fan for 20 years, and it's pretty hard to resist such a thing even now. I shall be buying it. :)

Drain You (BBC session version)

Everything John Peel (RIP) is awesome. He really had an ear for talent as evidenced by the fact many of his guests were relatively 'new' on the scene and somewhat unknown when he brought them on to play.

One of my favorite John Peel Sessions.

As far as this 20 year release goes, I'm excited to hear new stuff but in my heart it just feels like a corporate sham to squeeze more money outta the fans. :\ Wonder how Kurt would have felt about it.

btw t g, you never answered my PM about whether you spoke in rhyming slang or not. It's okay though. :)
