CHADDS FORD, Pa., June 23, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --

Endo Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ENDP) announced today that it received notification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that Endo's complete response to the FDA's Jan. 7, 2011 Action Letter relating to Endo's new drug application (NDA) for a new formulation of OPANA ER has been accepted. The new formulation was developed in partnership with Grunenthal GmbH and is designed to provide some resistance to certain types of product manipulation. FDA has set a Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) date of Dec. 13, 2011.







"We are excited about the opportunity to offer this new formulation of OPANA ER designed to be crush resistant," said Ivan Gergel, M.D., executive vice president, R&D, Endo Pharmaceuticals. "Endo remains dedicated to improving patient care and the appropriate clinical use of opioid analgesics through access to treatment and a proactive approach to managing the potential risks inherent in opioid therapy."

A few Days?????? The OP Oxy's have been out for over 6 months and have not seen by far that anyone has it perfected... If so please direct me where... I have read so many pages of it, I'm lost...

That is what is so frusterating with the OC debacle that has taken countless lives and ruined many more. Pharma KNOWS how to make decently abuse resistant continuous rls opioids. TimerX is a fucking pain to abuse, Shit, mscontins are a fucking pain to abuse and those are DECADES OLD.

At the end of the day though, we still get our opioids, albiet in a less addictive form. Sorry junkies, I am for this.

And maybe doctors will be more likely to RX them. Now that the pharma company HAS to market them as 'less addictive' you can be sure the doctors will think so.
 
can't get your pharms the way you want them?

I read they are also going to add a certain (?) amount of naltrexone, to deflect any full agonist opiate if you wish to use in conjunction with...(Opana ER)

Opana is oxymorphone, a full-agonist. If you read that it was likely about making less addictive oxymorphone pills by using a small amount of naltrexone.

that makes no sense.. the naltrexone or naloxone if they were to add either it would stop the opana (oxymorphone) itself from working also, not just other opiates.
 
If it's crush resistant, than how exactly long is it taking to obsorb into your system. Sound pretty lame to me. I would never take it just for fear of shittting out a pebble.

The price will go up for the IR but like oxycontin, the new OP's are low priced a & that may happen with the new Opana ER's as well.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly by being for the new change in formula and calling those who abuse prescription pain killers "junkies." It's true that I have no prescription for these pain killers; I buy them illegally, and then I crush and snort them. But I don't break into cars, steal, or pawn my prized possessions in order to afford buying these pills. I'm not a junkie. I enjoy this substance, and I enjoy taking this substance in such a way that is less wasteful and more effective. I'm not happy about the formula change in the same way that anyone else on this forum, yourself included, would not be happy about their drug of choice being made more difficult, virtually impossible even to enjoy. So please, think before you make statements like this one.
 
Wow that blows. Oxymorphone is the one opiate i have never had the luxury of trying, and now it looks like i may well never get a chance :(

Oh well, atleast theres no shortage of heroin!

Damn, you got really offended for someone stating that pharmaceutical companies making changes is good because it will be overall much safer.

Now, obviously there are people that recreationally use opana with caution and safety and are not "junkies" but also there are a lot of people out there that have their lives destroyed by prescription drugs so I think it's pretty selfish of you to be that upset that you cant get a good buzz because theyre trying to save people's lives (or at least look like that to the media). Either way, not being able to get the high you want for the right price is a small sacrifice for a change that will hopefully safe people from addiction and death.
 
so basically its going be like eating cardboard similar to the o.p's, how exciting. not only are they crush resistant, you dont have to worry about wasting your pill if you accidently run them over. there bullet prrof!
