Since the light show thread is pretty much dead, Im gonna post my new videos here :|
That was awesome!! I love it when you turn your thumb lights on. SO COOL!! Makes me squee everytime. I dunno... your lightshows rock, is all.

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle and the trauma it caused you - I can definitely understand how things like that work... The event in my life which is the cause of my PTSD is probably what also contributed to my emotional instability and later BPD later in life, too.

So what does that make our serotonin systems? Already depleted due to such things, yet we suffer few (if any) side effects from MDMA... So does that mean MDMA might actually be helping to replenish our serotonin rather than deplete it?

Haha thanks =D

Our serotonin systems are ideally the same in their purpose but everyones is different. Im sure youve read through BL that some people have horrible comedowns from even just taking one pill as opposed to me (in the past) taking 6 pills in a night and be completely fine the next day. Our bodies and our systems purposes are the same, but are different for everyone. And to answer your question:
MDMA definitely doesn't replenish serotonin lol. The whole negative aspect associated with it is depletion.

Tweakyb do you post at TL?
The thread will probably come back to life, it always does.

Throw Lights? Ive submitted a few videos but not active in the forum. I just look for cool videos and ocassionally submit my own... like Im about to do.

I have to disagree with that, wholeheartedly. There are indeed chemical imbalances which can cause a person to be predisposed to suffer from things like depression. I think it's not so much to do with serotonin as doctors think, though...I dunno.

Granted, the doctors got it wrong when they first diagnosed me with depression and instead it's BPD, which is rather different, so...anyway.

;P

You're entitled to your own opinion :). I'm sure the great majority of people agree with you. I'm not necessarily saying this about depression, but IMO many illnesses/diseases/conditions can be skewed or made up for the sole purpose of making money. Put a person which such knowledge about health as a doctor in a position to tell you anything that is wrong with you, and chances are you are going to believe it. Fibromyalgia? Get outta here! I believe depression can be brought on because of recurring events in people's lives, but isn't that just sadness? Now have a doctor diagnose you with depression and what are you to think besides that you can do nothing about it besides believe it and take SSRI's that could mess you up even more in the end? Not to mention that both doctors and pharmaceutical companies make a large amount of money off of this. It's been said that we spend about $40 billion dollars on treating the common cold on meds from pharmacies, doctor visits, etc... in America alone! We would go broke very quickly if this could be dealt with by way of a yearly shot. Think about how much money is spent on cancer treatments like chemo and such... it's fucked up to think about it that way but how can we find the solution for everything except these things that bring in so much money?

Fibromyalgia? Get outta here!
That, I don't quite get as to what you're saying...

But I understand where you're going with other things. People being diagnosed with something like depression too early often has that person "resigning to their fate" sort of thing. And telling just anyone who comes in sad that they're depressed so the doctors and pharms companies can make money isn't a completely impossibility.

But, unfortunately, there are plenty of disorders that are than "just being sad all the time." There really are people who have such an imbalance in their brain that they can't directly proportion their level of emotion to the cause of the emotion (i.e. feeling suicidal because they didn't get a decent grade on a test). And this, among other things, can set apart the ones who are truly depressed, those who have disorders period, from those whose wallets the doctors are just trying to drain. :\

I have fibromyalgia... :( :( I don't see how there can be a fake disease if the symptoms are so very real.

If that's not the cause for the pain I feel all day every day, I'd really like to know what is. They've run so many tests and can't find any other possibility...

how old are you sinister?
i thought that happens mostly in middle aged (like menopausal...) women....
i dont necessarily believe in it but hell i dont care much...i wouldn't go as far as to say its fake....cause apparently like lyrica kills your pain if you have it instead of opiates so theres something to it.
oh well, i dont care, if it halps someone takin pills for it so be it.
moar research is necessary.
@depression.
i get depressed, and people say "choose to be happy", but its not that simple. depression CERTAINLY exists, but is probably overdiagnosed.

Yeah, I thought it was something that mostly affects older women, too.
My mom, grandmother, aunt, and cousin all have it. (Mom and cousin aren't menopausal, though.)
So it seems to also have genetic predispositions.

And I'm only in my early 20s. Apparently there are more cases of younger people being affected by it than I realized, too. Sucks either way. ;_;

I don't know a crap-ton about it, and agree that more research needs to be done, but I can't see how people don't think it's real. :( But maybe they have good reasons, and maybe I actually have something else that's really obscure that the doctors are just not knowledgeable about.

But, you're right, there are medications that help it, so there's got to be something there.
I actually just started a Lyrica regimen. It seems to be helping more than what I was on before, but it's not fully in my system yet (only been a few days so far) so I'm hoping it'll help even more as I continue taking it.

@Keaton: You're a poopiehead.

ic.
i knew an idiot kid who liked to abuse gabapentin, and lyrica is the same thing but stronger isnt it?

I took gabapentin before and it had some negative side effects (vertigo, memory fog, etc) and I'm really hoping the Lyrica doesn't do anything like that because I've heard it's like a stronger form of gabapentin, too. I didn't know people used gabapentin recreationally until after I stopped taking it/got rid of my "leftovers"...

Apparently I'd have to take about 10x my normal dose to get any of the effects that people use it for. I might decide to experiment one day (apparent euphoria and the like) just to know... it's definitely not one of those things I wouldn't have expected people to abuse though.

@Keaton: Your face is mature. >:3
