If Sarah Palin jumped into the race...

Back on topic, She'll probably run, but I think it's pretty clear that Palin won't get the nomination... at least not for the GOP... at least not if they want a legitimate chance at challenging Obama.

Wherever the tea party is strongly represented, she will have support.

Doesn't matter anyway, she's a dark horse, along with Bachmann. ATM, Romney has the best shot imo.

And good luck to Obama with his future re-election slogan of, "Things would have been worse without me, take my word for it!"

She better not run, because she'd ruin any legitimate chance of replacing Obama with somebody decent. She would also stand no chance of winning. I'm not a big fan of Romney either. The dude is just fake. After watching the first Repubican debate in Greenville, SC I'd be most inclined to pull for Herman Cain.

Bardo5, no he does not have more experience as a legislator then Hillary did. Hillary was a US Senator from 2000-2009 - that's 9 years. He was a half term US Senator and a state senator for 7 years. She has a year on him, plus her time in the White House as First Lady - she was the most empowered First Lady in the history of the United States.

Obama was a legislator from 1997-2008. Thats 11 years. If one were to do the math, 11 > 9.

You're also counting 2009 for Hilary, which was after the election.

I don't understand how you're so passionate about electing one liberal democrat while so passionate about condeming another liberal democrat. What exactly is the difference between the two and how would the country be different had Clinton been elected?

She would contend well in the rust belt - I think she'd do real well in OH but not win, I think she can take IN, she'll lose MI and IL.

[...]She'd also lose PA

What is your basis for these predictions? Why would she do well in OH and IN but not PA? Have you ever even been to Ohio? Yeah, the OH midterms weren't good for the democratic party, but this is still a pretty blue state. There IS a strong contingent of anti-Obama rhetoric here, but it's no stronger now than it was in '08... and the people of this state who dislike Obama aren't big Palin fans either.

If Palin actually got the GOP nomination, I'd be willing to bet that a lot of registered republicans just wouldn't vote. For as much as people hate Obama, anyone with half a brain knows that Palin is even worse.

True Hillary supporters should be pleased as punch that Obama won; if she'd won, instead of the birther, elitist, and crypto-Muslim accusations we'd have the old song and dance about periods, Bill and Hillary's sex life, her "mannishness", how dynasts are ruining American politics, that continued high unemployment proves that women can't run the show, etc., etc.--in addition, of course, to the usual absolution of the previous President. Such superficiality is the state of American political discourse in the 24-hour news / blogosphere age.

She'll only do it if it is financially profitable for her to do so. She's the paris hilton of politics.

Lol, she is more of a joke then Donald trump politically. I think she is a good person who crossed a very powerful liberal media. I hope Herman Kain takes the nomination personally

You have a very skewed perception of the world. How did she "cross" the "liberal media"? She had her own freaking show for chrissakes.

I guess she never personally crossed it, but if you do not think the media(other then fox news) is against her and her beliefs then you live in a fantasy world. Granted she made some dumb answers in that k curick interview it was also edited very carefully.

I think it's more a case of reality having a liberal bias than the media... but hey... diff'rent strokes.

If by crossing the liberal media you mean she said stupid stuff and got called out for it, then yes.

Dude I don't think you could edit those interviews, clips, gaffs, etc. to make her sound more retarded. She's bottom of the basement stupid dude, get over it. She didn't cross anybody and there's no liberal media bias. She's just really really stupid and really over her head.

Hey, none of this is fair; let's let Palin speak for herself. Here she is on the importance of Paul Revere's ride (italics mine):

The transcript:

He who warned, uh, the … the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh, by ringin’ those bells and, um, by makin’ sure that as he’s ridin’ his horse through town to send those warnin’ shots and bells that, uh, we were gonna be secure and we were gonna be free … and we were gonna be armed.

With any luck, Palin and Michele Bachmann will someday combine their collective mastery of the American Revolution into an enlightening new historical tome.

Why OH and IN but not PA? Because OH and IN are more conservative than PA. Indiana has voted GOP from 1968-2004, OH is not as Republican as IN, but they have a history of voting GOP aswell, while PA has voted Democrat since 1992. They voted GOP in 1988, 1984, and 1980 but before that they were firmly democrat.

I believe she would take the bible belt states for sure (if not all of them, then the vast majority of them), W. Virginia, Virginia, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Florida, S. Carolina, N. Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska.

She'd also take Alaska, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, N. Dakota, and S. Dakota.

She'd having a fighting chance in Ohio and Indiana, at least.

Romney would take Michigan, so I don't think she'd have a fighting chance there.

She wouldn't be able to take the West Coast States, NY, PA, or any state in New England.
