Dreams about drugs

Sorry if this has already been done before, but is there anyone else here that has had dreams about using or looking for/finding drugs? Pretty sure there is lol.

I've been totally dry for almost a week and it happened again last night. I found a bottle with some oxis in it. I don't actually remember taking them in the dream, I think I woke up only to find out I was dreaming. It was also kind of weird because somebody was in my dream who I know that said they would give me some but I haven't seen lately. Probably because I had that on my mind and it just manifested in the dream.

I've also dreamt that...

1. I was smoking weed walking down one of my streets.
2. I was high on acid walking around.
3. I found pills in various places

That's all I can remember... Strangely I don't think I've ever dreamt that I was drinking or anything else.

I do all the time. If it is about alcohol it's usually me getting extremely intoxicated physically and mentally I am completely fine and wondering why my motor functions are so impaired. But yea I have had dreams that involve me finding huge stashes, buying really good product, or being given free drugs of all shapes and sizes. The dream usually just results with me waking up and being frustrated after discovering it was all only a dream. I'm sure it has to be fairly common for people who take drugs to dream about them.

I'll usually dream about drug use when I've just started getting clean, since that's always on my mind at the start of sobriety.

It works the same for other things too. When I was in jail or rehab I would always dream about getting out and going home, because that's all I wanted to do.

I was watching something on discovery about how dreams stem from whatever's in the back of your mind a lot.

Drug dreams are crazy. I always wake up sweating with my heart racing. Usually involve scorring large amount of black tar and a new bag o needles. These dreama would hapen when i was using.

When i used cocaine frequently i would commonly dream of consuming large ro'cks of blow, baseball sized.

I totally dig that type of dream!

This seems to be be how most of my dreams work... Dream about sex, wake up before I get it. Dream about drugs, wake up before I use them... I think my dreams just want to torture my depraved ass lol. Although I have dreamt that I was fucked up on acid, but none of my pill dreams seem to result in me actually using them before I wake up. Might be because I dont feel a psychological need for acid. I can't say the same for painkillers.

Would you guys ever actually feel fucked up in your dream?

I think there was one time I can remember when the dream had me waking up feeling high, but most of the time I would wake up as soon as I blew that line or booted

Very rarely. Most of the time it was just to torture me. lol I don't think I ever woke up feeling high, but I really don't remember.

Dreams about drugs? You betcha! Dreams involving drugs are quite common—a mere fragment of the addiction and recovery process. I used to be a meth addict, and I had one very vivid dream in which I opened a bag of meth, grabbed the paraphernalia, prepared the drug for consumption, and woke up right before I was able to partake in the activity. When I woke up, I felt both euphoric and speedy as hell—as though I had actually used the drug! I remember bolting out of bed astounded, and immediately proceeded to what used to be one of my many stash spots. When I got there, I noticed that absolutely no meth was even in my possession! I remember feeling really distraught after that; I felt as though I was in some sort of crisis. My body went from a level 10 on the excitement scale to a negative four! A few months later, I was sent to a lockdown facility (I was underage and refused rehab, so that was where I ended up), as I was there, I began to notice that almost every single one of the meth addicts I spoke with had experienced something very similar.
I have now been clean off of meth since the first week of October in 2009. I haven't had a single meth dream since. Granted I switched addictions, haha.

I have also had a few heroin related related dreams, and I was one of the few addicts who literally only mainlined a few times and quit. I haven't shot dope since September of 2009, but I have had a couple of dreams about the mere feeling it produced. Currently, my vice is now painkillers. With that said, I have had multiple dreams where I can clearly recall the feeling of biting into a Vicodin. To make a long story short, I have had a handful of dreams directed towards drug use. I believe it to be perfectly normal for anyone who has used, and have even heard stories about people dreaming they shot heroin who have never touched heroin in their entire lives!

Hah I posted in this yesterday and then went to bed and had a dream that I got 6 green Rockstars (so good, had them in Ibiza this season) and a bunch of K.... then I woke up and realized I had none of the above....

I've had at least four dreams about drugs since I've been clean. Granted, before then I was smoking so much that I almost never dreamed. Three times they were about me smoking weed, but I always got very anxious and regretted it, fretting over how I'd "never pass a drug test now!" The fourth and most recent one involved my roommate asking me if I'd like to smoke some H, and me getting mad at him for not putting enough in the bowl. Heh. Lots of weird things in that statement...

Oh and once, years ago, I had a dream that I took acid and my legs stopped working as I was trying to cross the street. A strange one, that.

I've heard addicts looking to never use a substance before feel very scared by dreams of using. A few have had dreams of declination which were described as a gaining of a new wholeness. A dream where a person committed to not using the drug of choice is offered their doc and they politely decline.

I'm not saying a dream of declination is a cure. I'm not saying that people who still accept their doc in dreams are in trouble. I'm saying a dream of declination in a world that is amorphous and built half on wish fulfillment feels powerful to dedicated abstainers.

I've never had a dream of declination.

That's really strange. I was thinking all this time that chemical or psychological changes were what caused drug related dreams. But for someone who has never even used drugs or a certain drug I wonder how that could be explained?

Perhaps the chemicals in the DNA of the non-drug (or different drug) user are similar to those of the drug user with the active using dreams. I know that before my mother ever got prescribed pain medication, she was extremely against drugs and alcohol. During that same exact time period in which she had never tried opiates at all, she had a dream that she shot up heroin. My grandmother also had a dream she shot up heroin. I (you guessed it) have also had heroin dreams—not to mention a bit of dabbling with needles. With that said, your idea about psychological/chemical changes being the culprit actually sounds like a rather reasonable thing to ponder. Genetics play a key role in a lot of our conscious, waking traits. Why not our subconscious?

i have very lucid dreams...alot involve scenes that I would encounter in reality which includes doing some drugs.

I did dream about doing heroin once(shot)--my mind created all the euphoria--it felt so real, I guess sort of an extrapolation of prior ope experiences.

some say that dreaming of a substance implies addiction though

had them a few times, most was about MDMA and once about xanax. in my md dreams ive always started off by going out to look for some rolls, friends were in it and the places the dream occured were places ive been recently. ive always "found" rolls, never ever recall paying for it(ive found rolls on the ground a couple of times at raves. figured thats the reason). it would seem so real even the roll would be what i just had, i would do the things id normally do, my friends were there, it just seem so perfect. the dreams would be complete meaning i would go to bed in them. id wake up and believe it for a sec cos it seemed so real..then it was all a dream.

my xanax dream was pretty much what happens when i take xanax and drink. blackout. in the dream id remember taking it then remember only glimpse of the night befor. but in this dream i was very dissapointed in my self, i couldnt believe i took them. the reason for that was i abstaining from drugs and alcohol for a couple of months. i guess it was more of my conscious testing me to see howd i react.

Well it happened... Last night I dreamt that I was on what I think was ecstasy and was driving back to my house rolling lol. I've never done ecstasy in my life. It was night out and before I got to my cross street an ambulance drove in front of me and there was a cop behind me also but didn't have their lights on. When I made the turn onto the cross street I scraped the side of someone's car that was parked on the side of the road. I kept driving worrying that the cop saw me and woke up soon after that to a voice or noise.

Heroin. First and only drug I ever dreamed about. Never dreamed about alcohol either, and I've been a huge drinker for more than half my life.
