I am thinking about getting put on this to help me quit smoking tobacco. I also have depression and anxiety issues. Anyone's experience with this treatment method? Anything I should know before making this decision?

wellbutrin made me feel a little weird and didnt do shit for my anxiety but i hear it works for some people

i just started on a lower dose 75mg 2xday. I haven't noticed much of a difference. i mean i wasnt a heavy smoker and mostly smoked on opiates. it can't hurt to try.

when i was initially prescribed wellbutrin years ago it was too much the big purple pill, and i got anxiety from it.

I was on Wellbutrin for about 6 months before it was switched to Vyvanse, and it definitely worked better for me than Cipralex and the ADD drugs I've been prescribed. It definitely lessened my desire for cigarettes as well, and when you do have one, it seems much less enjoyable. Suddenly shitty tasting and unappealing.

I take 300mg's of wellbutrin a day for bipolar depression but unfortunately i still smoke :\ . Great help with depression but it has not helped me much in trying to give up smoking. It helps me smoke less maybe but that's about it.

Also since wellbutrin is a dopamine norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and is thus a sorta stimulant it can make anxiety worse for some people.

I tried it for a brief time. It helped with my focus and energy and gave me some interesting lucid dreams, but it also made me feel wired and didn't help my short fuse or insomnia so I quit taking it. I still smoked casually on it, not that I was trying to quit.

I being a space cadet took a double dose on accident once. It was profound disorientation, nausea, dysphoria, etc Its a decent med ime but one that requires more caution about accidental double doses in my opinion.

Your Doctor will likely check your history for any history of eating disorders or seizures as those two groups are much more likely to get seizure problems from the bupropion.
