Nancy Susterka is the principal at the middle school and she sent a letter to parents saying students are smoking sugar candies like smarties and pixy styx.

The principal said the students crush up the candy and roll it up like a cigarette and then they inhale.

She said it can be dangerous and become a gateway to actual drugs.

Principal Susterka released this statement: "To protect our kids, I have banned the consumption of Smarties and other sugar candies until further notice. While this isn't a drug, practicing the behavior of inhaling can be attributed to the use of other inappropriate substances and I want to keep our kids healthy and safe."

it would have made for a much better story if they were plugging the smarties. ahh the sweet smell of a smarty farty

These were banned at my elementary school because some kid snorted a line of it one day in front of a teacher as a joke (we dared him to do it after watching Scarface one day). Well he did it and the principal started writting kids up who had powdered sugar candies.
 
Really now? Hahaha but I remember my sis in middle school got everyone to start snorting pixie stixs LOL.

or at least dumbasses here have been doing it for a while
its apparently worse for you than actually smoking a cigarette too, or at least thats what i remember them saying when it was on like good morning america..

Where do kids learn to do that stuff at that age? It just seems that people are starting to use younger and younger. I was around 16 when I started experimenting. I can't imagine 11, 12, 13...
 
are you people serious? who didnt snort pixie sticks when they were 10 and feeling badass. this was rampant in the 90's i remember everybody was railin dat sweet sweet ...lawl

when I was a kid nobody gave me shit for "smoking" fake bubble gum cigarettes (they had flour inside the wrapper so you could puff "smoke" out).
