LoveHateLove, the way Layne sang "Why's it have to be this way" got me through some excruciatingly unbearable times—raw desperation for lack of better terms. Although completely simplistic, they are some of my all-time favourite lyrics actually.

How many times have you been to the back?
No one to see and nothing to laugh at
Going everywhere at once...

Time does a crawl back to where it doesn't show
No one means me when they say people don't grow
The face in the mirror is not me

Ditto. The way his voice was able to convey emotion (pain in particular) is just freaky. The first time I heard him sing that, the hair on the back of my neck stood up, and not just as a result of his sheer vocal talent, but because he's singing a question I've been trying to answer for as long as I can remember.

I saw them in concert not too long ago. It sucks that Layne's gone, but it was great to see Jerry rockin' out. There's a few of their songs that kept me fighting to stay alive.

I'm diggin' that Frusciante song btw :D.

Panic, that song (that one ^ see!) makes me get mah ghetto on! "The womb is a graveyard"—poetic shit! Would love to hear some more lyrically inclined rap.

A gal I used to fool around with used to always blast this song for me whenever I was in her car, saying it was 'my' song, haha. Apparently, you can take the gal out of the institution, but you can't take the institution out of the gal!

Nice to see so many Alice in Chains fans 'round these parts. I remember when I first heard Dirt, i didn't really like it. And the lyrical content went 110% over my head. But damn, they've got to be one of the best bands of the '90s.

NP: Down in A Hole.
